The photo was taken 1997 at the KISN Summer Goodbye show at the Oaks.

The picture was taken on September 19, 1997. The Kisn-FM jocks were back stage. We had the original "Kisn Good Guys" come on stage first for this photo opt. Then we all came on stage together. This was commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the return of Kisn to the air waves on August 1, 1987.

This event followed up the night before special broadcast "Kisn Memories" that was hosted by "Tiger" Tom Murphy & myself. Also on the show were: Pat Pattee, Roger Hart, Tom Michaels, Dick Sainte & Whitey Coker. The program had the Kisn Good Guys reminiscing on behind the scene stories. Plus old jingles; a vintage Whitey Coker newscast with commercials; The Preacher's Night Watch theme song and more.

Thank's to David Field, those anniversary shows are history. He had to have his Charlie FM which is a bust. Kisn was the #2 overall station in the market when he blew it up. Another mistake was having kids selling the station that had zero passion for the format.
Don W Burden is still turning in his grave.

"This was commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the return of Kisn to the air waves on August 1, 1987."

So does the "30th anniversary" sign in the bottom left of the photograph have any significance, or did I miss something?

Great photo but the Stoner wasn't in it! It must have been taken just before Tom Michaels' passsing.

Stoner might have been out of the country. Remember Tom Michaels missed the 1988 Kisn-FM on air reunion.

I've got an (incomplete) cassette tape of the "KISN Memories" show that aired back in '97 that Craig mentioned above. I'll do some digging to see if I can find it.

I know right where my 1988 KISN reunion tapes are but they're Beta.

What is wrong with Beta?
I still have four working beta VCR's.
Never had a Sony beta deck go bad.
Only one working VHS deck now. Had 4 go bad over the years and the betas get more use.

"I still have four working beta VCR's."

Man, I am GREEN with envy! My Sony SL-5200 (an early but fairly inexpensive "Hi-Fi" machine) died more than 10 years ago, and like an idiot I did not replace it and hauled the tapes off to Goodwill :-(

Beta was Better!

With what would you replace it, dear Liza, dear Liza? I had a similar experience but take some solace in the fact that recordable DVD is MUCH better!

With a Hard Drive I would replace it, dear Liza, dear liza!

And indeed if I had not stupidly pitched the tapes many years ago, I would be buying a Beta deck off of eBay or Craigslist, and making some transfers. Oh well :-(

I still have the original "portable" SL2005 and it's shoulder camera...two separate units...actually three counting the tuner.

And my SL2700, SL2710, and SLHF900 Super Beta decks.
All Sony. The 900 is in my video rack and I used it just last week.
I do have a Sony Super VHS SLVR5 but it has color banding in the video and needs fixed. Otherwise, it was my best VHS deck. I had two JVC S-VHS decks but they died. Not resurrectable. I also The SVHS in my rack now is a cheap lightweight JVC.
I have two professional S-VHS decks but each has it's own set of problems. I use those for dubbing off VHS into the computer. One won't track slow speeds....only SP but it has a TBC. A JVC BR-S822U. Looks like a Sony Beta-SP, down to the lift up lid with TBC controls under.
One of these days, I'll need to do some housecleaning.
