Correct me if this is just an urban legend, but I understand the guy who replace Cronauer on the air in Vietnam was Pat Sajack of "Wheel of Fortune" fame. |

I knew a guy in radio once who claimed to have met Cronauer when he as in the Army Radio Corps , he and some others spent a whole day with him so he said. Claims he was a total a$*h()le in person. |

I met Adrian Cronauer when he spoke at Linfield College in 1988. Actually helped run sound for his presentation. He had a bunch of drops from the movie and from his real shows on cassette tape we had to play during the presentation. I remember what a pain it was to cue the cassette to the right points and fire them right when he wanted...but we managed. This was not too long after Good Morning Vietnam came out (if memory serves...) |
