Anyone tell Rocketradio about this? Could fit right into his plans for world domination.

If one had lots of money to waste, that might be a fun station to own and run, but not for the potential profit.

When I was a youngster, EVERY jock I knew that was older than me told me, the impressionable new deejay that "Play Misty For Me" was REQUIRED viewing "if you wanna be a deejay".
Haha, so I did it too when I got older!
But then after Alan Berg, it wasn't funny anymore.
I am sure we have all had our share of the lady who "loves your voice".

One of first nights on the air, I got a call from a listener, who invited me over to her house for "you-know-what." She also mentioned having a husband and a 14-year-old daughter. When I asked what would happen if her daughter walked in on us in the middle of her proposed "recreational activities," she said "We'll see." And when I asked her where her husband would be, she said "In the other room, reading the newspaper." This caller even gave me directions to her house.

For the record: No, I did not pay her a visit. Thankfully, I never heard from her again.

There are some listener/callers, who are genuinely nice people. But, the lunatics most often are scary enough to discourage us announcer-types from ever meeting a listener in anything other than a well-attended, very public event.

Most of us who were in radio for any length of time , in about any market had our crazies ! Most of them were harmless.

Like the old woman who we used to call the " its 31 on 8 lady". She mustah been at least 80 years old and would call KYXI but always after 11:20 Pm and say something like " Its 31 on 8 !" Meaning that you just did the weather forecast and temperature at 11:30, bottom of the hour as it was formatted at that time. Well if KYXI's temperature didnt agree with Jack Capell's temperature, and it never did of course, on the late Weather at KGW, KYXI was always wrong, always.

She mustah been OCD, always had to call up and correct you ... " The : its 31 on 8 lady"...a new featured weather moment here at 1520 KYXI, " On the Right side of your Dial" .

Jessica Walter. I was trying to remember who played the psycho woman. She was great in "Misty". Especially liked the scene where she interupts Clint at a luncheon job interview and doesn't realize the older woman is trying to hire him, not date him! Priceless stuff!

Isn't that the first place we ever saw Donna Mills and "the haircut"?
