Well, what they said would not happen IS! Lower lying areas in Woodland have been evacuated, the airport and trailer park are flooded and they are trying to put up the seawall that was built during the last flood. All of the dams on the Lewis River system have to open the flood gates to prevent water spilling over so the lower lying areas don't look good. I heard that I-5 in the Chehalis Centrailia area is once again under water and closed and the Kelso industrial area is gearing up for flooding as well. Get out the rowboats folks.

You'd think after 1996, Katrina, last year's I-5 closing and the rain storm just a few days ago, we'd start thinking BEYOND dikes, seawalls and flood control.

Its time to just move to higher ground and just let the water go where it wants to go. Why fight the laws of physics?

This includes Tillamook, the Chehalis valley, and of course, New Orleans. Come on everybody, MOVE!

I'm beyond feeling sorry for people whose homes got flooded AGAIN!

Yeah, I heard on the 6:00 PM news that they closed I-5 from MP68 to MP88.

I had to drive up to Seattle today. I was worried about the return trip.

I really did not want to return to Vancouver via Yakima!

That's assuming I could even go that way. Hwy 90 was closed 38 miles east of Seattle at the pass and Hwy 2's pass was closed too.

I'm not sure if 101 is open all the way to Astoria or not. I know it's closed at Seaside.

I rushed through what I had to do and came back through Chehalis about 4:00 PM! The water was high then, but not up to the highway yet.

I'm glad I made it back before they closed the highway!
