Seen any good or bad movies lately?? Give us your review on them. Here are mine! Iron Man- What an absolute let down! I was expecting greatness equal to "The Dark Knight." That movie didn't even come close to the Dark knight. My Dad said the best quote of the night after the movie finished "THAT WAS LAME" The Happening- AWFUL! Horrible acting and ridiculous plot that builds up and then goes nowhere! "Get Smart"- Apparently you're not very smart if you actually rent that piece of garbage movie starring Steve Correll. Once "The Rock" appeared in a scene I knew this movie was going to be garbage. Burn after Reading- Average at best, I was expecting more from the Cohen Brothers. Great actors with a plot that fell short and left me wanting more. It just kind of ended! I spent a good portion of my christmas break watching pretty Crappy movies! "Burn after reading" was the best of the worst movies I saw.

Iron Man was disappointing. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a far better Robert Downey Jr movie. Fake is right, Burn After Reading succeeds ONLY because nearly everything else out now is crapola. Rent Blue Velvet again for a fantastic dark and edgy movie experience.

Hey Skep I keep walking past "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" at the movie store. I'll have to check that one out. Im tired of sitting through crappy movies. I've been renting my Dvd's at Redbox lately because they are only a buck. Although the selection is small!

Yeah my mom hadn't seen Dark Knight and I had to keep explaining Batman lore and mythos to her throughout the movie but she finished watching and quietly emphasized, "THAT was a great movie." Duh. I rented Ironman, the Happening, and IJ&TCS (indiana jones) all on the same night right before thanksgiving. Ironman gnawed at me and gnawed at me until I realized why I really didnt like it. Ironman was the first commercially successful black comic book hero. While Downey is a fine actor when he isn't high, I had a hard time swallowing a white boy playing Ironman. The Happening was truly horrible. I wanted to care about the characters but just couldn't. And Spielberg and Lucas need to permanently retire. Steve Spielburg has made ONE good movie since Shindler's List, that was Catch Me If You Can. Lucas hasn't been involved in a good movie since The Empire Strikes Back. Plus 70 year old action heroes are not appealing. Harrison Ford should stick to sappy romantic comedies with his girlfriend, Callista "I Don't Puke After Meals" Flockhart. I love love love the Cohen Brothers but they are very hit and miss lately. Liked Oh Brother, Where Art Thou but that was the last one I really liked. Haven't seen Burn After Reading but probably will despite the warning on here. I do have a list of flicks I want to catch. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button looks vaguely interesting but that's the only one I can think of right off the top of my head.

Hey Moman I agree with your opinion about the Cohen Brothers. There movies are a hit and miss. They have made some absolutely GENIUS Movies (Fargo, No Country for old men, Oh Brother where Art Thou) But then they have also made some stinkers- Burn after reading, Big Labowski( I hate that movie, and can't understand why people love it. Trust me I WANTED to love that movie but I couldn't.

Well, you kinda hafta have been a stoner and/or stoned to get a lot of the humor in the Big Lebowski and a lot of the humor is non-sequitor which means the jokes go off in angles that are unexpected which makes them funny, in my opinion. Plus Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers plays a German nihilist in that movie that right there makes it a classic, in my opinion. The list Miller's Crossing: Brilliant... their third movie and probably their best "pure" drama of them all. Fargo: I saw it in Bend. I love dark comedy. When Steve Buscemi was pushing the foot in the wood chipper, I was the only one laughing in the theater. Oh Brother: Again great performances, great screenwriting, stunning cinematography... can't tell you enough how much I love this movie. Intolerable Cruelty, that was horrible. The Ladykillers was truly horrid. Really bad editting, acting and writing. Barton Fink was a bit off the deep end but overall I liked it. Raising Arizona is a freakin classic. Never seen Blood Simple and if I have, it wasn't memorable. Hudsucker Proxy was a nice jab at corporatocracy. The Man Who Wasn't There. I fell asleep 10 minutes into this movie. There are certain films that when I watch them they cure my insomnia. This is one of them. Everyone raved about No Country For Old Men. Meh it was ok. I loathe the ending of that movie it made me literally yell at the credits "What the **** kind of ending was that?!?!?" And I ran down the Big Lebowski so that's the majority of their work if I missed one I've probably seen it just can't remember the title in my old age.
