I don't go much for conspiracy theories.
I think Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone.
I believe the World Trade Center Buildings were brought down by terrorists in hijacked planes, and that the Bush Administartion was caught off-guard, and not complicit.....

Or does this have legs?

I know it seems unlikely - but isn't it possible the guy died of a purely accidental plane crash in bad weather?

Absolutely.

A meticulous, thorough and apolitical crash investigation would spell out the causes with a good measure of accuracy.

Do we have any Federal investigative agencies that are still demonstratively unmotivated by partisanship?

I'm in the Trust but Verify camp too.

With all the cockups we've seen as of late, I don't think it makes any sense to do anything other than just grill everybody and sort this all out.

Partisanship is at issue. I think that can get sorted first, then we back through this shit, understand who was with who, doing what and when and then know something about what happened.

Ideally, that will be enough, then we can move on.

Revenge isn't on the table with me, but a robust accounting of our recent history, along with the appropriate accountability is.

From there, we reform to keep things in some sort of check!

No government agency or individual is 100% free of partisanship. But that doesn't mean any investigators who are even slightly partisan are simply in the pocket of Bush and Cheney, ready and able to cover up a crime. Shoot, just look at all the trouble Patrick Fitzgerald created for Cheney and Libby - and he was a Bush appointee.

I don't think there's a shred of evidence yet that any foul play occurred. Just some rumors and speculation. I don't think investigators should start "grilling" anyone yet, unless there is some real evidence we haven't yet seen in the media. If there's evidence of foul play, investigate it. Period. Many of the people investigating such things are a lot more honest and less corrupt than you think, regardless of their partisan leanings.

My post was under the assumption that there is some evidence. Clearly, if there is none, then there isn't anybody to grill!

However, this guy being part of a greater investigation, I'm quite sure the questions are being asked where they make sense.

And I think they have to be honest to a degree. It's difficult to do otherwise, unless you are the only one playing ball.

I could not agree more with both of you.

Now, let's review all the agencies that have smeared, silenced, demoted, fired and disappeared whistle-blowers in the last eight years. It has been pretty ugly.

Still, the people in the trenches often get it right. They are experienced experts in their fields. Citizens discussing the hypothetical aspects of this tragedy keeps them safe on the side of truth.

In this case, Connell's friends and family, Ohio media, local law enforcement, airport personnel, and NTSB field investigators, staff and supervisors need to know that the American people have their backs.

The truth is not partisan.
