Ok lets here it. Or should i say "HEAR IT".
If we were to listen to your IPOD what songs would we hear? what albums are on it? What old Skool songs are on it? Any embarrassing songs on it that you would never admit, EXCEPT to your friends on PDX RADIO!
Lets get as many people to open up and share with the world. WHAT IS ON YOUR IPOD???

Currently on My IPOD, I'm listening to "Chinese Democracy" by Guns N Roses, Kings of Leon, Eagles of Death Metal, Queen, ACDC "black Ice" along with some old ACDC, Scorpions "Humanity Hour 1."

Well, in this case you wouldn't hear anything because I don't have an Apple I-Pod. (Don't need one, don't even really want one.) However, in my pocket CD machine right now I have a recording I did last week off OPB Music. MP2 @48000kHz/256kbps, about 6 hours worth done in TwoLAME. All fits on a single disc quite nicely ;o)

On my stereo & truck CD machines? Nothing at the moment..........

iPod 4th Generation classic (originally 40 GB, upgraded to 60 GB): It's got every song I've ripped (8,359 songs, 528 Artists, 907 Albums)

iPod Nano 4th generation (16 GB): Smart Playlist excluding Jazz, Ambient, Easy Listening, songs less than 1:45, songs more than 7:00) About 3100 songs.

Still to rip for the first time: Approx 400 CD's.
Everything is also being re-ripped to 256 mbs AAC (on an as motivated basis)

Here's the last 48 songs I've listened to (includes iTunes at home and both iPods, since when you sync an iPod it updates your recently played statistics, which I was unaware of for a long time).

I don't own an Apple IPOD, and I won't buy one. I have a $20 Emprex mp3 player that takes SD cards. I have two 1GB cards that I rotate. Most recently, I had a 70s-heavy collection of music on one of the cards, with some of the tracks being taken from records that I had and a few off reel-to-reels that a friend had in his attic. I think that the other card still has mostly podcasts, including the CBC Radio 3 podcast and another one whose name I won't mention right now, as I am on a work computer. I don't listen to MP3s that much.

Dang Andy, I feel second rate with a little over 4,000 songs and 21 full length movies on my Zune. I think it does not matter what I rip the songs at, as far as the Zune is concerned, I believe it will convert it down to 128 when it syncs. It's great if I play them from my PC at 256 and when transferred from the Zune back to PC they note only come across at 128 the have also been converted from MP3 to WMA files. I think when it first goes from PC to Zune it drops it to 128 and converts it to WMA at that time.

Newish -

Secret Machines new album. For those of you that are Pink Floyd fans, there are elements of this band, specifically this latest album, that you may enjoy. Heavier drums than Floyd - but epic, patient, dreamy rock that, uh, rocks.

Kasier Chiefs new one.

Oasis, Raconteurs ( I just can't get enough of their lastest ), Cormac McCarthy's latest book " The Road " ( He wrote " No Country For Old Men " and others ) David Sedaris' latest. Malcolm Gladwell's new book too.

Older -

Lots of Beck, XTC, Wolfgang Press, Beatles' White Album and Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road, Halen, All my U2 remixes ( of which I have many ), I've rediscovered The Tragically Hip again, all Neil Finn-related works, The Black Keys, Telephone ( former drummer for The Dandy Warhols' band. Quite good ) David Baerwald, The dB's, lots of Supergrass and Sloan, Stereophonics, ALL Spoon, selected Snow Patrol works, Primitive Radio Gods' first CD, selected Pearl Jam works, lots of Phil Hendrie bits, some Oingo Boingo, tons of New Pornographers, Neil Diamond, Lou Reed's New York album, Live and Living Color, The Kleptones' A Night at the Hip Hopera ( You have to really know and like Queen to appreciate these guys. They take obscure Queen songs and add movie clip audio and existing hip hop songs and they produced an entire mash-up album. Pretty cool stuff if you like to try and " play along " and see of you can recognize the riffs and samples ), Kasabian, tons of The Cult, Jude, Jon Stewart's America book, Interpol, Fountains of Wayne, lots of Fatboy Slim, lots of Elton John and Eddie Izzard, Donald Fagen's The Nightfly, Bowie, Paul Simon, Daft Punk and lots of home made remixes for practice for me.

I am Podless. Probably buy one for my mobile DJ business. I don't listen to music much these days. I enjoy recording my own.

My oldest daughter has mine. I'll put a podcast on my laptop for the drive home and that's about it. I'm in between music moods right now.

It will pass.

No iPod or portable music player for me - but if I buy one it certainly won't be an iPod or an Apple product.

There's nothing loaded onto mine, as I have one of these...
http://www.topman.ru/enlarge/1518/panasonic/rq-cr07v_gu-s/
(Yes I realize the page is in Russian... I did a web search and this was the first thing that came up with a picture.)
I've never used anything but the radio on this... it's hit the sidewalk so many times, I don't think I'd want to use anything else on it. I really think I'll stick to radio until the bitter end... portable music players don't have breaking news (when someone's in front of a mic to give it), traffic reports, or any surprises. (Even with repetitive playlists, homogenization, etc., anyone else recently listened to a song or anything on the radio they wouldn't have, but thought when they heard it that they wouldn't have thought of listening to it but can't think of anything better to listen to?)

I still have dreams of taking my thumb drive and soldering the unbalanced output into the input of Gates BC-50G 50 KW transmitter on , 1520 KHZ, loaded on a certain 3 tower " inline " directional antenna located on S.E.Johnson Road, Clackamas , Ore. processed with a late 70s Optimod.

See how that would sound....

And now New York City wants to tax the songs to your IPOD...America...gotta love it.

>>unbalanced output into the input of Gates BC-50G

I think it would have sounded pretty good...no clicks/skips from records for sure.

I have a little over 7gig of music on my hard drive in mp3 format, no mp3 player other than what's in the 'puter.

One of these days, those will make some 10 CD's full of my favorite music... Old jazz (ragtime to Swing Era) and theatre pipe organ. Damn near nothing else, maybe a "silly song" or three from more recent times, maybe a lil classical...
