According to FCC databased all of Watch TV LPTV are located on KGW/KOPB tower. However, I cannot pick up KOXI-CA (20), KORK-CA (35), KOXI-CA (51) in SE Portland that well. Are they broadcasting from KGW/KOPB tower or broadcasting at their old tower in Newberg/Camas?

Other than 20, which I have never seen, these stations are decent in Hillsboro, using a small UHF outdoor antenna (corner reflector bow-tie), Sony TV, with no booster amp. I suspect that the FCC info is correct. 24 and 54 are strong and 38 and 47 are weaker. 26 is very weak and no sound can be heard (it is next to 27 digital).
What are you using for an antenna?

They are all crammed into a rack on the upper floor of the new addition at Skyline.

What kind of programming is on the Watch-TV channels?

They have a licensed LPTV on channel 41 in Eugene with a CP to go digital, but I have not seen them on the air in several years.

Of the known Watch TV channels that I can receive*:

35 = Home Shopping (HSN logo)
38 = Spanish (sometimes displays a "T" logo with a "swoosh" through it)
51 = Spanish (sometimes displays a rounded triangle in a triangle logo)

DTV ch 16:

16.1 = Home Shopping
16.2 = Music video (Bohemia)
16.3 = Color Bar test pattern (displays as "Jewelry")

* I have no idea why 20 is not seen.

So here's what I can usually get of the WatchTV cluster:

20 = KOXI-CA America One (used to be a Home Shopping Club "sister channel" known as "America's Store")
35 = KORK-CA Home Shopping Club
38 = KKEI-CA Telemundo
51 = KOXO-CA Telefutura (The Wikipaedia page says that KOXO-CA has applied to start broadcasting ATSC on channel 44, but according to this FCC query it appears KOXO's trying to mark its territory on channel 6, where I thought KOXI was going............)

I've only seen the KORS-CA mux here a couple times, and only for a few minutes at a time.

So where is KOXI ch 20 being transmitted from? COL is Camas, but the fcc data base sez they are on the ch 8 tower:

http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?list=0&facid=71074

I can't receive them in Hillsboro, but Motozak2 seems to get them from Vancouver...Mmmmm are they actually transmitting from the Camas area?

"So where is KOXI ch 20 being transmitted from? COL is Camas, but the fcc data base sez they are on the ch 8 tower~"

From what I can tell from looking at this "Tiger Census" map from the FCC, KOXI-CA appears to be on the KGW tower. The spot marked by the blue star.

Here is a service area map for KOXI. Looks like I'm well within its confines ;o)

I had always thought the KOXI tower was in Camas.......

You guys are working too hard or you aren't reading. The answers are at the top of this thread, third post down by Chris Weiss, yesterday at 9:18PM.

He would know.

Yes, Chris Weiss should know.
Yes, The FCC database should be correct.

But in Hillsboro, with *almost* line of sight to the ch 8 tower (few trees at the end of the street), I can't detect a signal on ch 20 on any TV that I have tried. I have also listened for ch 20 audio on 511.750Mhz using my ICOM 8500 connected to an outside log periodic antenna...nothing!

Perhaps ch 20 is not on the air right now, or transmitting at very low power or not transmitting from the Skyline site.

Considering the number of amplifiers in on 7 foot rack, with a cooling system provided by Target, I wouldn't be surprised if they had trouble keeping things on the air. Every rack space is taken, and there are a couple of 8 inch oscillating fans clipped in the back for extra air flow. Classy.

Apparently they care about keeping their stations watchable about as much as we care about watching them! :-)
