Has anyone seen/heard the new Burger King campaign, "Are you a Whopper virgin?".

The concept is that there are people who have never tried a Whopper, or are there? The campaign also takes us to remote parts of the world where people have never heard of Whoppers.

This is either brilliant or the stupidest campaign ever. I'm not sure which.

It is attention getting, I'll say that.

It's one of the last things that Greg Brenneman did at BK before he went back to TurnWorks. Under Brenneman BK had enjoyed eight consecutive quarters of same-store sales increases, and its profitability took off.
The man is a genius!

Yeah, I like it. If it's attention getting, it's just not stupid, from a fast-food "we will do anything just to get you to remember our name" marketing.

Can they ditch that freaking king? Man, I absolutely just didn't connect with that goofy campaign at all.

I'm proud to say I'm a whopper virgin and plan to stray that way. Especially after the above link.

Those Burger "King" ads freak me out! Creepy.

Izzat what that freaky-looking thing was/is? Huh. I thought it was a reincarnation of Shakespeare, but with a horrid case of encephalitis.........

(Nope. I don't go to Booger Queen. I'm a Carl's Jr. user myself. Hey...it's just a couple blocks up 164th from Shari's.............)

I always thought Burgerking Whoppers tasted like rubber! HA!!!

Could have been a disgruntled Employee who put the condom in the burger.
Remember just a few weeks ago we saw the clip of the Burgerking employee taking a bath in the kitchen sink (NAKED)

STAY AWAY FROM BURGER KING! Their secret sauce is kept secret FOR A REASON!!!!!!!!!

Merkie: We continue to bond. Although carnivourous, I too am a "whopper virgin". With local exceptions like McMenn's and Pizzacato, I don't do chain restaurants!

I'm good for a Whopper about once every year or two. And when I do have one, it's usually pretty good, given that it's fast food. Burger King's fries are weak though. That's why when I need the grease, it's Micky D's, Burgerville, or Jack in the Crack.

That nose is growing longer by the second Terry Danner! You've already told us in previous posts that you have frequented "5 Guys Burgers and Fries." That is a chain restaurant MRs. Danner! I also find it hard to believe that you have NEVER IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE tried a whopper at Burgerking!

Why did Burger King exec's think it was a good idea a couple of years back to switch to a inferior french fry? More like processed instant mashed potato sticks if you ask me?

If I am gonna pick a place to have fries at its gonna be McDonald's, Red Robin, or the best IMHO are McMenemin's french fries. Could be a little bit less shoe string though.

How do you guys think a Belgium style french frie centric joint would do? IE Euro/Belgium style frites with housemade sauces.

Economy aside could this kinda place work?

You are right, buns. I've now been to 5 Guys twice, and will return. So I guess there is a fast food chain I frequent. But I probably haven't been to a BK 5 times in my life, and since I hate processed cheese, mayo, and secret sauces... I tend to order a single, completely plain burger on the very rare occasions I'm stuck by companionship to eat in one.

Shyguy - I fear that in America ("does that chicken have skin?") anything which specializes in fried starch is doomed.

Won't ever happen. Sorry... But In & Out is not a franchise and they have vowed to stay independently owned. That makes expansion hard.

The one BK virgin ad I've seen makes reference to "remote Chiang Mai villagers", which is a laugh because Chiang Mai is a city of nearly a million people.
