Is one of Portland's most popular morning shows trying to go back in time?
It sure looks it.

I've just heard word one of Portland's prettiest princesses might just be the next sacrificial lamb to be thrown onto the lay off heap in order to make way for the return of a longtime local radio personality. The show has already dumped one dj and replaced him with another familiar voice. If this all goes down as planned it will mean that, by the end of 2008, one of this city’s oldest and most recognizable morning teams will be together, once again, on the air.

All they would be missing is a certain traffic guy. Hmmm......

Now, before you all start, the first thing I did is call Rebecca Webb. This is 100% NOT about her. She's happily out of the biz and in her first term at grad school.

SO. Who is it?

I would say it's safe to assume Michael O'Brien and Lyle Arthur

Who would be getting canned?? Are we talking about KHITS or KOOL?

How interesting that all all of dr doug and skippy's aliases are being uncharacteristically silent about this one.

I may be way off, but the reference to the missing "traffic guy" makes me wonder if they aren't talking about the old classic Morning Zoo crew.

the girl at 105 was fired today. That station has lost alot of ratings and money the past year or two.A good debate is, what does that station need to do to become good again?. It was a fun station to listen to years ago.

Nelson and Terry May not get all of their listeners back but with Dan Clark as the producer of the show, you can bet that the show will at least be funny and entertaining! I hope the show content does a complete 180 and actually turns to a funny show! They have the right people in place.

By the way , rumor has it that Tony Martinez is also coming to Mornings on the Buzz?? Insiders, whats the scoop?? it sounds like Byron is hinting that he is.

Tony would have to somehow toggle back and forth between Good Day Oregon and the radio, or give up GDO.

Not only is Tony Martinez on Good Day Oregon but he also teaches Part time in the Latino Studies Department at Portland State University.(according to the good Day Oregon website)

That would be really cool to hear him back on the air again!

On Friday, when the news broke that Oj is going to jail "Dr Doug and Skippy" were talking about it on their show. I then switched the dial to "Nelson and Terry" and they were talking about Brittney Spears. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Dr. Doug and skippy have better show content, they talk about current events and they don't spend the whole show talking about Britney Spears like the Buzz does. Nelson and Terry can have celebrity reports, but they should also do headlines with some REAL NEWS, not just the tabloid trash.

I also hope they start doing, bits, pranks ect on the show.

I hate to say it, but Britney Spears is probably more relevant to a 25-34 demo than O.J. Simpson is. People in that demo weren't even born when he was playing football and I doubt they remember his murder trial. If they were going to bump Britney coverage for coverage of a sports star in trouble with the law (yawn....happens every day), they should have gone with the Plaxico Burress story.

Do you realize the first OJ Trial was like 13 or 14 years ago? That's ancient history as far as a 25 yr old is concerned. No one cares that OJ got jail time for the retarded stunt in Vegas.

During the first Bush administration, I mentioned something to my daughter concerning Reagan and she said she didn't remember him. I think she was about 14 at the time. I really think a lot of kids don't pay much attention to the outside world, at such a young age. I remember Eisenhower being in office but I doubt if my wife(same age)gave any thought about JFK until the assassination and then, mostly because of other people's reactions.

The Oj Trial was just an example! I think the Nelson and Terry show should add a head line news feature where they spend a few minutes talking about current events. THey don't have to get too Newsy" because they are not a news station but they should at least brush over the current headlines!
With the economy in the crapper, people losing their jobs left and right, and a new president taking office soon, I think some real news would be a good feature to add to the Nelson and Terry show.
I always enjoyed Val Rings' news segment on the Morning Zoo where she briefly went over the days headlines each morning. They can still do the celebrity reports but also add a headlines segment or real news. A lot of 30 year old women are raising kids and WANT to know whats going on in the world!

Maybe thats why Nelson and Terry's ratings have been dropping, they spend too much time talking about Brittney Spears. A little is ok, but when the whole show revolves around that it gets old.
