IMHO, this is something seriously needed. We may not agree with the President, but hearing the leadership goals like this, helps a lot. Compared to what we've seen from the current President, this is exciting!

I want my President to tell me stuff. It kind of sets the tone for the discussion and helps to keep the primary issues relevant. Given the current media environment, this is tough to do!

Seems we fixate on silly things like a little kid does on the shiny toy. Not a bad thing, but not exactly a healthy thing, given the problems on the table right now.

My first reaction is this is a generational change, from an authoritarian point of view, to a more democratic, public discourse oriented one. The use of new media technologies is generational, but actually doing the address and leading in this style isn't.

Almost seems like it though, given how long it's been since we had this kind of regular attention from the President, doesn't it?

Don't know about you guys, but I'm feeling good about this. Hope it continues.

No kidding. That's the last reaction I expected. Probably some tin-foil, they've drugged him deal.

A Max Head Room " Big Brother " personality works in this medium just a well as it does(did) in the other medium.

The message is whats different. And this medium has the advantage of delivering the message to people faster and very economically. You Tube viewers are often people who arent fixated to watching a Satelitte/Cable driven flatscreen tuned to a newschannel on a specific time and day.

Yeah, I kind of like it. This is the kind of thing I can just check out when I've got 10 minutes.
