Hey, are there any other proud parents who have a son or daughter in the military service? Lets hear about them! I'm One. My boy spent his senior year in High School in the Navy DEP Program (Delayed Entry Program). After graduating he shipped out to Navy boot camp in Chicago were he just finished not to long ago. He is now at the New London Navy Base in the BESS program (Basic Enlisted Submarine School). He is currently at or near top of class which is way cool. When he maintains that status at the end of BESS he will get top pick of boats. He is going to apply for the re-fitted SSBN re-classified as the SSGN guided missle submarine. Same Ohio class boat as the boomers but with Tomahawks instead of ballistic missles and a seal delivery system which can rapidly deploy as many as 60 seals up close and personal. He then heads off to his "A" school for about 48 weeks of specialized training for the job he has been approved for. Oh yah, BTW, his ASVAB scores were in the top 4%.

Horah Horah Horah!

I currently have no one in my immediate family that is currently serving in the military family. My brother is a Marine. My dad was an Air Force brat. My mom was an Army brat. My cousin was in the Army. My uncle was in the Navy. I could go even further back but one of my ancestors fought for the British as a Hessian (German) mercenary in the Revolution then stayed after the fighting was over. :-)
