They were in AZ booing when conceeding McCain offered praise to president-elect Obama for sucessfully bringing young people into the election process. You should have seen McCain's face, I swear he was going to tell them to shut the fack up! Ugh! Never again will McCain have to associate with those 23%ers.

ps: that was a heck of a concession speech, eh?

That was a good speech. It was disgusting to hear the boo's, though. With supporters like that, McCain's probably thinking about becoming a democrat again like he did after 2000.

Looks like in 2008 the Bradley effect was no match for the Palin effect.

It's no wonder McCain doesn't do an old switch-a-roo like dipstick Liberman did.... McCain a Dem... WOW!
Those 23%ers are brainwashed idiots.... If Johnny had, had a gun I'm sure he would have used it then.

It was a good speech.

Yeah, Skep, I think that was exactly what he wanted to tell them. More than once too!

I thought McCain's speech was classy and gracious. Too bad he couldn't have shown that side during the election. Shame on those buffoons for booing. You sure didn't hear any booing when Obama mentioned McCain. Both speeches made me proud (and both made me cry).

I liked the guy on KGW8 at the Convention Center who said "it's time for blue and red to become purple."

John McCain was truly a class act in defeat. He obviously cherishes his legacy. Like Dono and Merkin, I also believe that if his drunken frat boy and promise ring army kept up the lowbrow booing he would have tossed a heartfelt STFU to the crowd. As this campaign wound down, he was obviously past connecting with the plurality of dolts and castoffs in his increasingly manic crowds. I could tell that he was really tired of being the runaway smartest guy in the room.

The vibe he had toward the Palins tonight was positively arctic. Something tells me that the last mission of the Straight Talk Express will be a deep pair of tracks across the muskeg when he throws them under the bus. He knew what kind of people they were bringing into the fold. They were folks he did not like and could not pursue with sincerity. He knows the Maybach crowd, not NASCAR. He found prayer in a prison camp, not a bigoted church. After two long dramatic decades, we may have seen the last of -- forgive my bluntness -- trailer trash aristocracy in charge of this country.

With the waning days of fist pumping thugs behind him, John McCain may turn out to be a Senator driven toward a positive ending to his story in public life. As a man who has seen both the best and the worst of America first hand on the trail, he might just figure out how to be that guy we all once admired for his potential as a leader. He has shown a propensity for the pretense of rebellion while following prevailing winds, so only time will tell. If he were to become a true advocate for our brave Veterans, it would be a really good start.

mrs m sez: Too bad he couldn't have shown that side during the election.

My thoughts exactly.

Maybe President Obama will throw him a bone and send him to Afganistan to find bin Laden.

I also read in Huffington Post somewhere AND a different source on Charlie Rose that Colin Powell is one of the front runners for Secretary of State.

My guess is that they are at home enjoying their lives and avoiding you retards.

Stop creating topics for them and enjoy your victory.

My guess is that Obama gets a "Jodie Foster" ending.

DUHbya get's what for being WPE???

He gets to be in the company of the other 2 WPE's. Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

Carter sucked as a president (NO Monica jokes!!) but he has done an awesome job for Habitat for Humanity.

Bill Clinton was a great president as far as running the country goes -- the GOP is pissed because Clinton ended a great many promient Republican's careers when their mission to undercut Clinton backfired. Heh.

Carter was a smart politican, but lousy at running the country.

Reagan may have not been any smarter than W, but he was at least smart enough not to run by his gut.

Obama probably has all of the best tributes of Clinton, Carter and Reagan.

Don't worry about the old coots here Trixer, with nothing to show for the last 8 years, they're being toss behind. I'd like to throw them under a bus, but Obama isn't going to stoop to that level. Lucky them.

Ya, Carter transplanted his Georgia coalition to Washington DC, first big mistake. And they were all a bunch or rubes for the first year ! By the time they all wised up, it was too late. A Democrat Congress let Carter hang out to dry.
