I have heard speculation that if (I mean when) Palin loses her race for VP, and Stevens winds up winning his seat, that she could wind up being appointed to take his seat. Then she would serve with McCain in the Senate. Wonder how that relationship would work out - the team of Mavericks cleaning up the US Senate!

Maybe Palin should lead the charge - Torch in one hand, rifle in the other!

Yes, he will still win.

Alaska is a different mindset.

He's going to get his tubes cleaned.

And the Republicans keep just bringing it home don't they? This has been a very bad cycle for these kinds of things.

a very bad cycle

Its no cycle. Its more like they're FINALLY getting caught up with by the Karma Police.

I mean Presidental cycle. Probably should say term, or administration to be more clear. To me, it's a cycle. We have an election, stuff happens, then we have another one. That's a cyclic series of events.

We have littler cycles in there too. State races and such.

Agreed big time on the karma police! They've been abusing things for a long time. Eventually, that kind of thing catches up. Interestingly, I think it's often possible to not go too far, just score and move on. Suppose the allure of that is just too much for those weak enough to consider doing it in the first place.

They could take turns, just score nice, then play nice, round robin and we would have dealt with it for a very long time.

Funny how that works huh?

Andrew, I read that if Stevens won his re-election and then was removed by the Senate, they would have to have a special election, not an appointment.
