Just heard on Kufo that they will be playing the First single off "Chineese Democracy" Tomorrow ( Wed)

The New GNR album will be a wallmart Exclusive and will be out in November!

But will they slip in any Donna Fargo records?

Axl Rose is a washed up burnout. Like Jose Canseco, he's burned too many bridges and made too many bad personal and business decisions. The samples I heard that were leaked on the internet sounded like garbage. And this is coming from a HUGE Guns fan.

GNR is my favorite band of all time. Even if the album does suck, I will still buy it. I actually like some of the tracks that have been leaked on the internet. I didn't hear the new Single from GNR that KUFO played today, so I can't comment on it.
I know that Guns n roses music has changed quite a bit on the new album. If you go in expecting an "Appetite for destruction" you will be disappointed. That album came out almost 19 years ago. Times have changed, so has music. Im looking forward to hearing it.

By the way, I have to listen to a CD more than once before I make my decision if its a worthy cd or not!

I really don't like it when stations do that. IMO (even though worthless), either play the song or not. If the song sucks and the PD/MD/everyone else has no intention of every playing the song ever again, air the calls from listeners that say stuff like "burn it!" afterwards. Have a few pre-produced "calls" on hand just in case it's so bad that nobody calls.

I haven't even heard the song yet, just posting general comments.

Besides, the old NRK would've done something like the Cockfight/New Rock Challenge (the name it had before Woody did nights in 1997), or... now this is dumb, I can't remember the name it had on NRK, but on KNRQ it was "Thumbs Up Or the Finger..." basically they play one song and ask the audience to call with comments.

If Axl had half a brain cell, he would make up with Slash and Duff and go on tour as the real GNR. They would make millions upon millions.

NRK should be laughing at the New Smashing Pumpkins single because their new single is GOD-AWFUL! Billy Corgan needs to call it quits. Not to mention Corgan has the most annoying voice in ROCK!

I like the new Guns N roses single, It's different, which is why most people will hate it.
I think NRK is just jealous because KUFO continues to Kick their ass in the ratings. That is, if NRK is even considered a rock station anymore.

KUFO playing it isn't really a big deal or anything. It's not like it was some "KUFO exclusive" or anything. The song was released to radio nationwide at 5AM Wed. morning. I played it at 8am... I bet that was before KUFO. Big freakin' whoop.

I'll be very curious to see The SPIn magazine article and what kind of ratings they will be giving "Chinese Democracy."
I think it was Spin Magazine that was saying that "Chinese Democracy" is one of the most anticipated albums ever!

In my opinion as a listener, no. Furthermore to listeners, they don't even sound or act like a rock station. Adult contemporary is more like it.
I was in a Subway earlier today that was playing them over the in-house speakers. When I realized that music was playing, I immediately realized that the song was putting me to sleep. It was followed by another sleepytime song. The DJ comes on the air, talks for probably four minutes, and airs yet another song that, if I had control over the radio, I would've never heard because I would've changed the station out of fear of falling asleep. Yeah, I did hear Nirvana's "In Bloom," but it almost seemed like it was played as a generic uptempo song. Even the Sleep Country ads and anything else with a background sounds more upbeat than the radio station!
I really feel like saying, "c'mon guys, even K103 has jingles!"

Id wait untill you hear the WHOLE album trixter!

Yesterday, KIRO played the song on the TBTL show, with host Luke Burbank interrupting the song periodically and making somewhat sarcastic comments. The attitude of both the KNRK DJ and of Burbank was, "we waited 11 years to hear something new from Guns & Roses, and THIS is what we get?"

When I heard the song, I thought that it was OK. Hearing it didn't make me want to buy the CD, but that is more because my hard rock listening days are behind me than anything else.

I'm not in the business, just a listener... NRK sucks. Not that many years ago you could hear good new rock. Now it's mostly crap and it's boring. Whoever is in charge over there ruined what was once a good rock station. Sometimes I tune in to see if they're playing something decent and I'll hear this techno crap. I just don't understand...

Out of curiosity, I listened to 94.7 today. I would have to say it's still Alternative because I can't come up with another name for what they do. I wouldn't call it AAA because it doesn't seem to have a Classic Rock base. There's quite a bit of acoustic music and just about everything they play seems to be fairly new, certainly within the last 20 years and that's being pretty liberal. Maybe, I'll have to give it another day.

NRK needs a makeover. Get rid of the 94.7 Alternative Portland, and start calling it NRK again! Play cutting edge rock and lay off the techno crap. Get some production on that station< i can't take hearing Mark Hameltosns voice on EVERYTHING!

I heard it the first time it was leaked on the net. A buddy of mine sent it to me. It has a Grunge sound to it. Kind of like a late 90's feel. That's done and it's time to move on.... Rose w/o his band and a sound of yesteryear.... NOT for me...

Listen for "Catcher in the Rye" and "There was a time" both HORRIBLE songs by any band.
It comes down to taste and OPINION and everyone has their own.... Don't like AC/DC's new disc throw it away... You like Axel's GNR band then stand in line for it on the 22nd.....
