What do you think?

While a good piece of work, IMHO, it felt weak and left me wanting more. They should have teamed up with someone like Desmond Child as the Scorpions did. Now that was a masterful piece of work and I listen to it over and over and never tire of it. AC/DC's latest I am sad to say falls far short of that benchmark. I expected more from them.

Forgettable.

While I havent listend to the New Acdc album, I talked to a friend today who bought the album and said that it is TERRIBLE! And this is coming from a guy who is an Obsessive ACDC fan!
Thats too bad if the album does suck because it has been hyped up for a long time!

Admittedly, I have only heard the single. And while Brian's voice sound a little better as of late, I fear for how bad it will sound live.

For those of you that have Comcast, channel 47(3?, I think ) has been showing off some great old and new footage of ACDC. It's the classic VH1 channel. Good stuff.

Well, I mostly like it. IMHO, it could have been more aggressive. On the other hand, it's classic AC/DC and that's a good thing.

This album will grow on people. Give it a few spins, then wait.

Getting it today.

Also going to both the Seattle and Tacoma show. I CAN'T WAIT! Even if some perceive the new album as a dud, you owe it to yourself to see these guys live. My GF doesn't even like AC/DC and she's going because she's amped up to see Angus in action!

This album is a solid 8. Compared to "Stiff Upper Lip" it's a SOLID 9 1/2. It sounds like they played this a little safe so they could get some radio play but it's very tight. By that I mean everything is were it's suppose to be and it's by the numbers AC/DC style.
I like the fact that they toned things down and let Johnson's (rehabbed) voice come through. He almost completely disappeared on "Razor's Edge" and in some songs on "Stiff Upper Lip" he was COMPLETLEY drowned out at times.
All in all it is what it is. CLASSIC AC/DC....
Don't want to spend $11.88 or darken Walmart's door??? That's YOUR choice.
Personally I've been to 8 LIVE AC/DC concerts and they are excellent in concert. Haven't been? DON'T MISS IT!

EIGHT live AC/DC shows? Man Trix, I'm jealous!

Yeah the music has toned down some, Brian's vocals aren't the greatest, and the band has been around for 35 years ... but Angus improves with age. Every time I have seen them, he has gotten progressively better live ... and that's spanning 15 years from when the first time I saw them to their last tour.

Got my copy tonight. All in all, a solid effort. Not their greatest, but I would say their best since Razors Edge ... definitely better and more to their roots than Ballbreaker or Stiff Upper Lip.

AC/DC is what it is, dry, simple, power chords that punch you in the face ... and it's back to that.

Just bought the new Acdc album today!

Seriously, is this the best they could do???? NO WAY!!!
Trixter said it best, "This is a "VERY SAFE" sounding ACDC album.
Its so safe that it gets boring at times. If I was to give The new album a letter grade I would give it a "C." It's a hell of a lot better than "Stiff upper lip" and "Ballbreaker" But thats not saying much because those were both two Shitty ACDC albums.

Its a very Forgettable album, In a year or two radio will be ignoring the album like they have been with "Ballbreaker" and Stiff upper lip".

Black Ice DID NOT LIVE UP TO THE HYPE!!

You guys are harsh! I just bought "Black Ice" today and I like it.
It's not up to the "Back in black" or Highway to Hell" standards, but it's still pretty damn good. I will give it 8 out of 10 stars.

The album is huge and people will be buying it, I even heard Charlie FM playing" Rock & Roll train" the other day.

I give two tracks an "8" but the rest of the CD a safe and solid "6". It's about the same rating I give Def Leppards latest release. The Eagles latest though, it was below, well below that.

Hey Beano, did you pickup and listen to Scorpions "Humanity Hour I"??

If not that is money well spent!

I will say this, listening to it more ...

This might be the best Brian Johnson has ever sounded on the vocals, definitely better than anything since the early '80s. I was very impressed ...

This might be the best Brian Johnson has ever sounded on the vocals.

Brian Johnson sings and not screams through most of the songs on this album. Johnson recalls feeling a twinge of anxiety when Brendan O'Brien suggested he swap some screaming for a spot of soul crooning (singing). Brendan instructed him that he was a soul singer and had to do what he needed to do. Brian Johnson recalls feeling worried that the rest of the band would think that this kind of singing would not suit their style of rock and roll but they (the band) were quite favorable to the decision.

The album is safe so that it could be a commercial success and get some radio play. The hype was for that very same reason. Brendan O'Brien produced the album along with "Vs" by Pearl Jam, "Purple" by STP and "Magic" by Bruce Springsteen. 11 of the albums he's produced have reached #1.

Yeah, you can tell that Radio Airplay was TOP of mind while recording this album, It is very safe, but its still an enjoyable album!
I can see why Stations like Charlie are playing the latest single from ACDC. Infact I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of the tracks make it on the "Soccer mom" stations. It just all depneds on how many copies "Black Ice" actually sells. Being a Wallmart exclusive, I think that that will actually hurt the record sales of "Black Ice".

Hey Bunsofsteel, you can choose between a copy of Black Ice on Vinyl or CD, order it on-line, have it delivered to your door, and never set foot in a Mall-Wart.
