Ever since Lisa Left the music on Jammin is unlistenable.
They play that STUPID Savage song "swing" almost every hour. And Every day at 11am they play that stupid Soulja boy song, EVERY single day at 11 o clock.
THe music on jammin is getting almost as bad as Z100!

Kanye West- Gold digger???? Are you kidding me?
Soccer mom stations maybe, but not jammin.

Since Cbs is getting bought out its apparent that nobody gives a shit about jammin or the music they are playing.
The rock guy should not be programming Jammin, Its apparent he just doesn't get the format.!

How much longer will it take for these CBS stations to get bought out? I assume once the cbs stations are bought out,the hiring freeze will be over and and they will be able to get some full timers back on the stations. Im also assuming KUFO will be making the middays a full time position. once the station gets bought out. It sounds like both stations are just stalling, waiting to see what happens next.

>>How much longer will it take for these CBS stations to get bought out?<<

The short answer: A LOT longer.

CBS has made it clear they're not "fire-saleing" stations.
And the economic crisis has taken a lot of buyers off the market.

It means as long as it takes. It is the same question as "How long will it take to sell my house?".

It will take someone with an offer that they will accept. Nobody is buying anything now and they won't until after the election and depending on who wins, it may take longer still.

Be patient.

Jammin needs a music director!

I hear Lisa Adams is available. They would be stupid is they didn't grab her.

Oh wait, they are.

As for a sale. Most stations are now WAAAAAAY overvalued. The true price is far below what the perceived value is, and in many cases what the price on the books is. No financing available, tight credit, declining revenues, no commitment to market. Not very attractive to a potential Jukebox buyer. In good time the moveins seemed safe bets. Now, the pie is too small to support oversaturated markets. Too many stations period.
The big companies devalued their own product. Short term greed=long term lean. If the downturn continues for any length of time, you will see stations turned-off.

Why can't Jammin 107.5 be like their sister station in Phoenix and Sacramento. Their sister station KSFM and KZON sounds way better than KXJM in Portland.

Jammin's music is weak and Ksfm in my opion is just as bad! . They are playing the latest single from New Kids on the Block in Hot rotation. Thankfully Jammin 1075 is NOT!
I still think the best hip hop station in the country is WQHT in New York, now THAT is a Hip hop station.

Lisa Had the station moving in the right direction(musically) ,but then The Kufo PD came in and took a big Dump on the station with the music.
Puff Daddy- "I'll be missing you." I hear that song everyday at the same time. Is that the best jammin can do???? - AWFUL! If you're goig to bring back some old skool songs, don't kill us off the most stale overplayed top 40 songs!

The best time to listen to Jammin is during the weekends because the syndicated programming plays MUCH MUCH MUCH better music. The Baka Boyz mix show is awesome, and one of the best old Skool hip hop shows ever is "backspin" with Spinderella. That show is soooo good! They actually play good old skool Hip hop. Hood Radio also plays good music! The weekends sound good on jammin, now if they could get the weekdays sounding as good as the weekends.

There is so many things that Cbs could be doing program wise with the station to make it better, but they are not. The music on jammin sounds STALE during the work week! They should bring back "The Thowback mix" at noon. They need to open up the playlist during the work week.
94.9 Jamz in Eugene is an Awesome station! Their playlist is huge amd I think they play much much better music than Jammin 1075! Jammin should just COPY 94.9 Jamz playlist in Eugene because the stations music sounds so much better! The Variety of hip hop on 94.9 Jamz is huge and they play deeper tracks instead of the Top 40 Crap that jammin 1075 is playing!

The name of the guy now programming jammin is Chris Padik (sp)
He is also the Pd for Kufo. I think he has done a really good job with the music on kUFO, he has opened up the playlist and now Kufo has a much bigger variety of rock than it has ever had. Now he needs to do the same thing with Jammin!!
Jammin has potential but they are sure doing a poor job with the music.
People were mentioning 94.9 Jamz earlier and Yes that is a great station! There playlist is at least Twice as big as jammin's. Not only do they play all the new hip hop but they also throw in some good 90's classics that are not played to death. Jammin should take note!
If Jammin drops in the next book it will be because of the poor music selections.

94.9 Jamz airs a very cool show on Sunday afternoons called: The Old Skool Show with MC Serch...I like it much better than the Backspin show with Spinderella that Jammin airs.

Chris Patyk has programmed Rock and Alternative, but does he know how to win in the Rhythmic format? Hopefully so!

94.9 Jamz is the station I most often hear being blared out of passing cars. They also had the station cranked at the Best Buy in Springfield. I've certainly enjoyed the old skool cuts they've been spinning.

Like I said earlier, I think Chris Padik has done an excellent job with the music on KUFO! The variety of Rock is HUGE. He took the playlist and made it much bigger. He made the station a lot more listenable. I just wish he would do the same with Jammin because the music on jammin is still pretty stale during the week!
He needs to throw some programming elements on the station during the week. Why not do an old Skool hour at noon????

I enjoyed the "Throwback mix" that the old jammin 95.5 used to do at noon. Hopefully Chris will do something like that on 1075.

Give me a Freakin BREAK! Chris could put that on If he wanted to. Infact I KNOW that Lisa Adams was getting ready to start doing an old Skool hour at noon on jammin! It's too bad she is gone because She had some great programming features ready for that station.

Do it for an Hour at noon- all Old skool! That is something that is very much needed on Jammin 1075!
Even Z100 plays a bunch of old skool during the noon hour!

Shellie Hart does the Old Skool Lunch on Kube 93 in Seattle. A full hour of Old Skool every weekday at noon!

Hey Sly Why is the MC Serch show better than the Spinderella Backspin show on Jammin? Have you seen the playlist on "The backspin??"
Pretty damn impressive. I wasn't expecting much from the show, but then I sat and listened to it and was really statisfied with the song selections. If I was to give "The bAckspin" a grade on their old skool track selections I would give them an A-. And the only reason why I gave it an A- Was because two hours is not long enough!

Mark: Here's more news from "The Valley of The Sun", if you haven't heard.

--------------------KNRJ To Spin The Format Wheel--------------------

SIERRA H BROADCASTING Top 40/Rhythmic KNRJ (ENERGY 92.7/101.1) / PHOENIX will be bidding the format adieu on OCTOBER 31st, PD BEAU DURAN tells ALL ACCESS.

In a letter to listeners, the station writes:

Dear ENERGY listeners,

For over six years, ENERGY 92.7 and 101.1 (KNRJ FM) has been broadcasting dance music to ARIZONA and worldwide on the web at energyarizonafm.com. ENERGY has enjoyed a long history, becoming the second oldest pure dance over-the-air radio station in AMERICA. It is with a heavy heart that we announce Energy Arizona will leave the airwaves at five p.m. on FRIDAY OCTOBER 31st. We want to thank everyone that has supported the radio station through the years, including our sponsors, the music industry and most importantly, you our thousands of listeners. Your support has been greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.

As one door closes, another door opens. SIERRA H BROADCASTING is very excited to bring something new to listeners in ARIZONA. Join us and listen MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd at 9:27 in the morning for a brand new chapter in Valley radio.

Thanks for listening!

I take it the oldest is KNHC Seattle?

Energy 92.7/101.1 sounded great when Mikeo programmed it (I listened to it online, and it was one of the stations that hooked me on the format, after several years of thinking that I didn't like it). That was also when the station had its own message board, and the largest topic there seemed to be the loss of Energy 92.7/5 Chicago. I'm sure the station will be missed.

KNRJ at 101.1 has a marginal signal from up northeast...hence the reason for a translator in North Phoenix at 92.7. They've got a CP to move the main transmitter to the same area as KAJM 104.3 and KVIB 95.1, so they'll put a better signal into Phoenix, at least for a rimshot from 50 miles out of town. They stuck it out in a dance hybrid format strictly on selling local clients...And now, the format wheel turns...

No...but once they move, it'll be worth their effort. Most of the other stations at that site can actually be heard on a Walkman now, even in Mesa. Such is not the case at 101.1's present location. Haven't picked up any buzz as to what they're going to morph into yet...

Thats what happens when you have one guy programming 2 stations. The music on Jammin is terrible. The variety is AWFUL during the week and they are now sticking to a Clear Channel approved playlist.
Thank god they have syndicated programing on the weekends, thats about the only time you can hear decent hip hop.

"Thats what happens when you have one guy programming 2 stations".
Exactly. No offense to Chris Patick ( sp?), but having the same guy program a hard rock station AND a hip hop station really wasn't a good idea on CBS's part; very Bush League. It looks to me that the writing's on the wall that the powers that be are holding everything at CBS together with duct tape, until they sell it off.
