I don't know whether to laugh at him or cry for him.

Does this guy really want to be president?

Fair question!

Could be that he really wanted to be President, but now after all the fighting for it, has forgotten why or may be reconsidering, leaving it one of these, "I'm not a quitter!" kind of deals.

My money says he's on autopilot.

As much as I hate to admit this, at one point I was willing to trade McCain for Bush.

Give me my crow dinner now!

Man, I can't say I wasn't there either.

Bush has taken us all to the bottom. I don't think there are any reasonable expectations of embarrassment at this point. Most everybody I knew, who supported Bush, has easily come back and basically said, "boy was that a bad call or what?"

SQUAK!!

Crows can count! They recognize faces and reason, and can use tools. The average one has a fairly high raw intelligence factor. Bush might enjoy their company!

Chris, that is funny the comment you made about him wanting to be president. I have occasionally wondered the same thing myself, especially after he selected Sarah Palin as his running mate. I know he's in it to win, but sometimes you have to wonder if he really WANTS to win.

He wants to win alright, its his disdain for his opponent that bedevils him. I am not necessarily saying it's about race, however that could be the reason. I sense he believes he is entitled to become president and has disdain for Obama's youth.

Believing that he is "entitled" to be President certainly fits in with what has been written about McCain when he was younger.

There was conjecture on one of the opinion shows tonight that someone in the McCain camp may have convinced John Boy' that if he just stays the way he is now, a few percentage points down , he can win due to this so called " Bradley effect " ( see Wikapedia ) . The Idea would be to stay on autopilot , dont get cranky or tempermental and just ride it all out calmly. Dont worry , be happy and trust the Bradley effect. Sounds like a Physics theory doesnt it?

The supposition is that white people will tend to poll several percent higher 'for' a black candidate during the coarse of the election 'run up' and then when they actually go and vote, white voters will cast their ballot for a white candidate instead.

I have doubts about all this, especially in this particular election, but that is the theory.

'08 election night is simply going to tell ALL of us:

..grand total numbers of all registered caucasians and african-americans
that indeed went to the polls...

..the highest percentage - winner take all..
..nothing more, nothing less -

I believe the Bradley effect will be offset by the anti-Bradley effect.

That's the phrase I was looking for.

I agree.
