I feel bad for all the employees that have just been fired, and more that probably will in a matter of months. With all of CBS stations up for sale, you have to wonder what the stations will sound like in a few months. |

KUFO is the only rock station in this market, so I doubt they would flip the format to something else. We don't even have an alternative rock station in this market, giving them even more room than most rock stations in other markets have. A format flip makes no sense at all for KUFO. |

Some individual stations within the CBS cluster will be parted out to other companies that have some demographic or format gap, and they'll almost certainly retain their existing formats. New owners always, always look for cost savings, so air staff or other personnel that are deemed expendable will be expended. The trick, in radio, is to not be expendable. |

I wish CBS would get a clue and fire Rick Emerson's bogus ass..... |

Why don't you get a clue, he doesn't work for CBS. |

The fuck you say? AM 970 "the Stalker" is owned, operated, and controlled by CBS. Who do you think is signing the paychecks? Prick. Loser. |

Isn't KNRK still alternative rock? Or is it now considered AAA? |

I think it's more on the order of Classic Alternative Rock, as compared to a standard Alternative station. I wouldn't call it "AAA". |

The fact that nobody can figure out what the HELL Nrk is playing just shows how out of Sinc(sp?) that station is. |

In my personal non-professional opinion as a listener, I'd consider 94.7 to be adult contemporary. I've heard them played in a bank for crying out loud! |

What bank was that or was King Missile's "Detachable Penis" removed from the playlist? |

KNRK has broadened its playlist quite a bit. What's wrong with that? |

It wasn't my favorite song. In fact, I wasn't even paying attention to the music, only that I heard "947 Alternative Portland." That's what got my attention. |

I was just stating that 94.7's rating suck and they really have no positioner for that station. The more music in the morning is not working. You can bitch and moan about how you want to hear music and not talk in the morning, but the stations that play mostly music in the morning, can't get any decent numbers. I think 94.7 should get a morning team in the morning and put a real morning show on in the morning, You can still play music but put a real morning show on. This voicetracked guy in the morning is boring and doesn't do much for the station at all. NRK was such a great station when it had S&M in the morning. That was such a great show, it was smart and hilarious at the same time. That station used to be so great, Trust me, I know. I was a senior in High School back when NRK was new and THAT was the it station,, NOT Kufo, it was NRK. They had a very strong morning show and played great music. I think Nrk shoukd try going head to head with KUFO again, get a great morning show and play all the new alternative rock, you can still stay eclectic but play all the new rock. |
