-------------Woman Dead After Crashing Stolen Station Van-------------

TUESDAY was an eventful day for BORDER MEDIA PARTNERS Top 40/Rhythmic KNEX (HOT 106.1)/LAREDO, TX. While supporting a fund raising event at the local CHILI'S, a woman stole the station van. The van was spotted about 100 miles from LAREDO and the woman led police on a 100-mile high speed chase that ended when the van rolled. The unidentified 42-year-old woman died from her injuries in the crash.

LAREDO TV station KGNS is reporting that the KNEX van was unattended, open and running when it was stolen from the CHILI'S parking lot.

Reminds me when I engineered/produced Jim Donovan & Debb Janes downtown PDX at the Red Star along the busline. At 5am I was setting up the broadcast gear, only to come back to the Kisn Van and find a man passed out at the wheel. Good Times, Drunk Oldies!

I looked at the video ONLY to see the news anchor's toupee. Yup, one of the worst ever. Was it worth my time to go look at the video to see the toupee? Yup. Should you? YES! (Is the news director blind or what?)

Here's my take on is "rug". Look at the picture of him at the top of the page. I believe this picture is old and the rug looks pretty good. The video is showing his new short hair cut but his rug is too long and it doesn't fit. That's part of what caught my eye but also the front looks un-natural and weird.

Wanna bet the relatives of the car thief will win a multi-million-dollar judgment against the station for making the van an easy theft target? Count on it.

Back in the late 70's, there was a story going around Channel 8/62KGW... that news anchor Ralph Wenge was trying to get the station to pay for his toupee. As a negotiating ploy, the station said they would pay IF Wenge left the toup at the station when not working. So Wenge let his "personal" toupee get rattier and rattier and rattier until the station got him a new one.

That animal on his head looks like something Palin would shoot.

Anyone remember Bruce Taylor at KAAR taking up a haor collection to get Wenge a new toup? Apparently, Ralph wasn't too thrilled with the idea.

This is a weird story! At first, I would have guessed that the woman who stole the van was a meth-head or mentally unstable. However, at the end, the anchor says that the woman was wearing hospital shoe coverings suggesting that she was a nurse or some other type of hospital employee.

or maybe she put on the slippers to look like a nurse and escape the facility she probably was confined in!
