Anybody from the 60s remember a hilarious so-called "song" by Ed Sullivan called the "Sully Gully?" It was more like an instrumental dance song with occasional recitations/ exhortations ("Wiggle your hips!") by Ed. It's in the same genre as stuff by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, if you know what I mean ;-) I heard it once or twice growing up in Michigan but can find hide nor hair of it, even via Internet search--the best I could find was another former DJ looking for the same. If an oldies DJ or anyone has this song and can make a copy (tape, CD, MP3), or if you know where I can find a copy, please let me know. |

"The Sulli-Gulli" by the Ed Sullivan Singers and Orchestra was released on September 15, 1969. The catalog number for the 45 was Columbia 44940. Unfortunately, I do not have a copy. I hope somebody has it stashed somewhere and shares it with you. |

It wouldn't surprise me if there were more promos distributed than retail copies sold. |

Thanks for posting the songs, Randy! If nothing else, I've also learned why my search failed...I was searching for "Sully Gully," which doesn't turn up a whole lot on Google. It always helps to have the proper spelling. ;-) |
