ST. PETERSBURG — Five weeks ago, the St. Petersburg Times convened a group of Tampa Bay voters who were undecided about the presidential election. Their strong distrust of Barack Obama suggested it was a group ripe for John McCain to win over.

Not anymore. The group has swung dramatically, if unenthusiastically, toward Democrat Obama. Most of them this week cited the same reason: Sarah Palin.

Yes! The shine is now wearing off that pyrite nugget Palin. And as more and more people learn just how unqualified she is and how extreme her views are, the numbers will continue to get worse.

They had to adjust the debates to compensate for her inexperience.

!?!

Isn't that kind of the point?

What do you mean they had to "adjust" the debates? Hadn't heard that. Can you be more specific?

quote:

At the insistence of the McCain campaign, the Oct. 2 debate between the Republican nominee for vice president, Gov. Sarah Palin, and her Democratic rival, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., will have shorter question-and-answer segments than those for the presidential nominees, the advisers said. There will also be much less opportunity for free-wheeling, direct exchanges between the running mates.

McCain advisers said they had been concerned that a loose format could leave Ms. Palin, a relatively inexperienced debater, at a disadvantage and largely on the defensive.

The wrangling was chiefly between the McCain-Palin camp and the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates, which is sponsoring the forums.

Forgot this:

quote:

McCain advisers said they were only somewhat concerned about Ms. Palin’s debating skills compared with those of Mr. Biden, who has served six terms in the Senate, or about his chances of tripping her up. Instead, they say, they wanted Ms. Palin to have opportunities to present Mr. McCain’s positions, rather than spending time talking about her experience or playing defense.

Yeah, so she can't really do any harm.

From an email I got today:

PBS has a poll that asks: Is Sarah Palin qualified to be VP? The Right Wing has organized a yes vote, and it is piling up and will be quoted, we can be sure. Let's turn this around...You don't have to give your name or email address in order to vote.

It's very simple.

Here's the link: http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html

McCain and Palin win by 10 million votes in November.
Why?
Because American's are just that dumb. Remember that 70% of American's can ONLY read at a 5th grade level. Less than that can do basic math. It's no wonder that DUHbya got 55 MILLION votes the second time around......
You idiots need to stop buggering your mothers and sisters!!!!!!!

Hmmm.... value of college education huh?

Well, given that almost all of the voters, either voted for Bush or Kerry or Gore, then anybody could easily say:

"A lot of the people who I know, that voted for [insert candidate here] were college grads."

Go figure indeed!

C'mon Steve! Step it up a bit buddy! I know it's in you.

....proof Palin is now hurting McCain

mysterious pinch marks on his forearms.
small bruises on shins as if he was kicked by pointy toed shoes.
lump on back of head where she (accidentally) hit him with the butt of a hunting rifle.
scratches on arms and face with little flecks of nail polish that matches a shade guvner P. wears.
case of food poisoning traced back to tainted moose stew....
broken foot from near miss by an unidentified hit and run snowmobiler.

Yes, McCain had an initial bump in the polls when he picked her, but it looks like Bill Maher was wrong, not ALL voters are that stupid judging from recent polls. Hell, it's a dead heat in North Carolina.

Isn't that nuts!

Was online with some people from that part of the country this weekend. Had to do some advocacy as the financial mess is just scary enough to warrant that.

It's unbelievable really. Many of these people are just getting the life squeezed out of them by the Republican party, yet they are there, full bore just supporting them for "lower taxes" and "smaller government".

If only ignorance were painful.

Palin was a brilliant pick. I wish I could give McCain more intellectual credit for that, but I can't. It's more like the high risk, high reward bet one makes when too much has been lost at the craps table.

Lucky fuck.

The paper may be "worthless" but things one learn along the way to getting one would help anybody's critical thinking skills, ESPECIALLY a trip towards a Master's degree.
