* If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different." * Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story. * If your name is Barack, you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim. * Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick. * Graduate from Harvard Law School and you are unstable. * Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well-grounded. * If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience. * If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive. * If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian. * If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian. * If you teach responsible, age-appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society. * If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible. * If your wife is a Harvard graduate laywer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner-city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's. * If your husband is nicknamed "First Dude," with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

I've never heard of that site either, and who gives a rip where it came from. Is it true? Not true? Why? That's what we'd like to know what you think DD.

DD, what did you have for breakfast this morning? I'd like to avoid answering the original questions too and talk about something else! Andrew

What does it matter where it came from? Do you have anything of consequence to add to thread?

Anybody notice that DD is here to defend Palin within minutes? Is this because Palin is a religious zealot just like her?

That's fine. We've exchanged e-mails before. It's not like I'm gonna fail to write what I think on this matter.

"Be careful dissin' DD or you will receive personal emails from Patrick." Is this really true? Are certain people here off limits? That isn't right.

I won't be recieving any email from him or anyone else. My email is kept private for the exact reason that I don't want nut jobs harassing me offline. Got something to say? Post it!

That's actually a good policy. And Warner, Patrick = DD. Perhaps Chris didn't make that clear.

In my time here on this message board no one has ever abused my email. I figure if it keeps the conversation going outside the limits of this site that's fine with me. If DD (whose uses Pat Cassidy on his information page and has posted 1726 times) has a problem with me using his real name and not his nic should have never posted that information to begin with. Missing KSKD aka Doug Dingus whose has posted 13,076 times up to this point, doesn't seem to have a problem with his information being available. Vitalogy is choosing to keep his info hid. Totally cool.

Thanks for the clarification. I've never checked DD's profile, for lack of interest on my part.

And of course Chris is right there, in the open as well. IMHO, nobody should be discriminated against for holding info private. Lots of us have reasons to do that. (and I do in other venues where work and discussion might conflict and I want to just express what's on my mind, not what is ok with some corporation) If somebody has been abused before, going private is good too. There is the whole hit and run bit, where anonymous contributors do their damage with lower accountability. Not sure we can fix that without breaking a LOT of other good stuff, so we just deal. No matter your handle online, really it comes down to either being real or not. And from there either you can live with who you really are or not. Posting in places like this will lead you down that path rather quickly --if you decide to be real about stuff. My advice, for anyone considering this is to actually not publish personal info until that path is taken and you see the implications. Then from there, you can make choices that make good sense.

Okay Missing, in an attempt to keep it real I have changed my profile to show my real name. (Hey, it's been floating around for years I am sure......why not again?) Here ya go guys: http://feedback.pdxradio.com/board-profile.cgi?action=view_profile&profile=motoz ak2-users (Of course, everybody outside our little last-mile loop knows me as "Jaws of Death 99th Avenue" as was made clear in another thread......)
