I am a bit surprised that none of the AM 1010 fans on this board have mentioned this yet. In the time slots not filled by block programming, 1010 is now running Spanish language pop music. The program source sounds like it could be an Internet streaming audio site because of the artifacts and ocassional dropouts. |

Wonder if any other AM signal owners are paying attention. One of the perennial ratings basement-dwellers (KKAD? KCMD? KTRO?) ought to jump on this format first thing Monday morning, if not sooner. |

All 3 of those stations have higher ratings than 1010! |

Semoochie is right of course, but 1010 is very limited in its reach and never shows up in the ratings. I'm willing to bet that pre-Beatles rock'n'roll on a decent signal would be a better draw than the current formats of any of the stations I mentioned. (It probably would even improve KPAM's ratings, but I don't expect that station to change given the huge investment it's made in news-talk.) |

I don't think Oldies and Standards are compatible. One or the other would have done much better! |

Agreed - 1010's playlist was much too haphazard. What I'd like to see is something closer to the 2003-04 KPOJ project. As I recall, that station did start to get decent ratings after a year or so on the air (but the owners correctly saw the potential for even greater success when Air America came along). It's certainly worth another try. |

Why oh why would KCMD want a broken format like 1010? That's like saying that KXL should simulcast KPOJ for a ratings bump. Or KKCW should drop what they have and go with KUIK's format. |

What it is, is that they have some employees who are buying air time to do the format that it has now. Nothing more than that. No real need to analyze. Typically when people buy blocks of time the music is all over the place and you can find that with them now. |

I loved Super 62 but think the playlist was too deep for most people. The one on 970 could probably do fairly well, now. Neither one could get much, up against KISN-FM! |

Hi everybody! I'm back I don't understand why a station with such a weak signal would have a format like that anyway. There must be better signaled am stations than that |

You must live in Vancouver. With 95.5 changing to sports will 1080 change to something else? That would be a place for an oldies format. |

On a somewhat related topic, I see that Jones, which earlier this year dropped "Music of Your Life" to replace it with their own network, will drop the replacement on September 30. Presumably, affiliates will be fed Dial Global. I understand they're a little 70s heavy but still Adult Standards. Another option would be to pick up MOYL from its current syndicator. We'll see what KKAD does. |

A while back, we were talking about DXing AM stations here, one of the stations I got for a few nights off and on over the summer was "Legends 1680" out of Fresno (as well as the KPIG-fed station on 1670). I'm sure 1680 must have been satellite-fed (I kinda doubt a local station with the format would have even a VTd overnight personality), and a lot of the music was newer stuff compared to what "Standards" meant in the past. Does anyone know what satellite format it has? |

we have talked about this before but "Sunny 1520'" music was different from the 1550 version. Not as much big band and more later music. |

Sunny 910/1520 aired AM Only/Adult Standards. Sunny 1550 ran MOYL until this year, when the sydicator switched to Jones own package. When MOYL was already in the market, KKSN fell on its face, in an earlier attempt of programming AM Only, the same format that later, ran successfully for years. |
