Word is out the KMCQ has signed off the air in preparation for coming on the air in the Seattle area in September. 08/28/08 - KMCQ-FM 104.5 Covington makes its debut the first or second week of September, following further testing, and fills a niche in the Seattle market with an oldies format. I live near Olympia and I haven't heard any testing...not yet. Everybody's wondering what kind of signal they will have in to the Seattle market...will it be a rimshot or a real Seattle signal? |

The signal will reach South Seattle well. Their real desire is to move to Cougar Mountain with many of the other area FMs, but that has become complicated because Canada has approved a new station on 104.1 near Vancouver. |

Your best bet is the Seattle board at Radio-Info. |

They were testing last night, and this morning... I do not hear them now, but propagation from Seattle seems to be poor, even KING is weak. |

It appears that they finished testing and have been running their format for a couple of days. Nothing but wall to wall music and liners. |
