I don't know what broadcasts from those towers on prune hill in Camas but there is a sign for a proposed development right next to them... |

If I remember right, KNRK has a stick somewhere around there, and I think KGON has a gap filler on the water tank, targeting east Vancouver........ |

No, KNRK never broadcast from Prune Hill. They began as KMUZ-FM on Mt. Scott. In 1991 the proposed Prune Hill site was for then C.P. KWQM 94.7MHz at 3308 McKever Rd., which is 150 feet east of the Upper Prune Hill Water Reservoir. |

The Clark County 911 System also has a microwave tower up on Prune Hill, one of 6 simulcast radio towers in the Clark County Emergency Services system. I also believe Portland 911 also has a presence there, as I've seen their utility trucks within the compound. |

I looked at options from Prune Hill in 1989 for my 105.9 application. It's not a great site for several reasons. I went with Livingston Mtn ... further away but much higher up. That's where Channel 2 originally broadcast from when they were short spaced with Ch. 3 in Bend. |

Ch. 3 started as KVDO in Salem, then a few years after OPB bought it, the transmitter was moved to Bend. |

KVDO had no place to go. They had to protect channel 2 IN SALEM! |

Originally KATU channel 2 had to protect channel 3, which wasn't even on the air. |

Ya, thats what the Transmitter ENGR for Ch 2 told me once when I was about 16 years old. They were on Livingston originally due to CH 3 which hadnt even been turned on in 1960 yet ??!!! |
