Over on the radio board, in someone's post:
Selling the naming rights to the Rose Garden for less than a million should of been routine but the Vulcans still haven't got it done.

Which got me to thinking... why not start a thread full of names you'd like to see (or would not like to see) on the side of the only major league pro team in the state?

BTW... this is meant to be light-hearted humor. They don't have to be companies/organizations with the dough to buy naming rights. If you're not into this, please use your browsers' back button.

MAYBE:
American Standard (or Bemis or Crane or Mansfield) Toilet Bowl

Sloan Sports and Event Valve

TriMet Trip Generator

NOT:
NW Natural Grill (oh, we still need that 40%+ rate increase, just in time for the cold season to set in)

Halliburton Hall

Blackwater Center

Chevron/Texaco (or BP or Exxon/Mobil) Gas Pump

Yes:

Otto's Dog Pound

Shari's Pie Hole

George Moreland Tidy Bowl

Columbia Sportswear Fleeces

Nike Slave-labor Children's Training Camp

No:

Wieden & Kennedy House of We're Cooler Than You'll Ever Be.

Hey Skep, is that the famous Hemstreet "(lack of) Hunting Tag" Bowl?

Tom Peterson's Buzz Cut Bowl

McCormick & Scmidct's World Largest SteakHouse and Seafood Grille

but in all seriousness I like the idea of a Weiden & Kennedy named arena.

No really the Rose Garden fits it perfectly

I agree that Tom Peterson's name should be featured prominently in this city somewhere, but most of his customers can't afford events at the Rose Garden. Perhaps a large trailer park or bingo hall somewhere in Lents or St. Johns would be more appropriate.

Great Idea!

Forget the mess of the Caesar Chavez street-naming debacle, we need to name some big-ass major road Tom Peterson Blvd!

Like 82nd Ave.

There would be no opposition! (Unless it's your street)
