Excerpt from today's impeachment hearings:

CONYERS: Thank you for answering our subpoena so prompty, Mr. Astley.

ASTLEY: You know the rules and so do I.

CONYERS: We expect a full account of your knowledge of the President's actions during your time in the White House.

ASTLEY: You wouldn't get this from any other guy.

CONYERS: First of all, tell us why you are here today.

ASTLEY: I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling. Gotta make you understand.

CONYERS: Understand what?

ASTLEY: We know the game and we're gonna play it.

CONYERS: When you say "the game", are you referring to the loyalty oaths that so many in the White House were required to take as a condition of employment?

ASTLEY: You know the rules...

CONYERS: Yes I do. The "rules" have been very apparent form some time now. What exactly was this loyalty oath to the President that you and so many others were asked to take?

ASTLEY: "Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you, never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye, never gonna tell a lie and hurt you."

CONYERS: You actually took an oath not to lie? How well did the White House hold to that promise?

ASTLEY: Inside we both know what's been going on.
