Tony Snow, former White House Press Secretary under President George W. Bush and FOX News and CNN commentator died of colon cancer at the age of 53. As much as I disagreed with Tony Snow on most issues of the day, I thought he was a breath of fresh air compared to his predecessors in the Bush White House.

Snow leaves behind a wife and three children.

RIP.

Amen to that. I always thought of him as the "hip conservative who gets it". Snow was an engaging, light-hearted talk show host who always managed to find the fun in most any subject, including (at times) his own illness. He's certainly missed.

Liked him too. At least he got to really take an inside role before it was all over for him.

RIP

Yes Tony was a class act...very sad of his passing...way too soon for us here...will miss his smile and his attitude in life...seemed to always be upbeat about his illness. God's extra graces to his wife and kids.

President Bush said Saturday that he and first lady Laura Bush were "deeply saddened" by Snow's death.

"The Snow family has lost a beloved husband and father. And America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character," the president said in a statement.

"It was a joy to watch Tony at the podium each day."

"On the other hand, that's one fewer "tell all" books I have to worry about."

I haven't even seen it yet but I think its appropraite to say on Tony Snow that before his death he indeed most likely completed his "Bucket List" when he was named as White House Press Secretary.

It'd be great if Tony already wrote that "Tell All" book, soon to be published posthumously.

Seriously, I'm sure he spent his remaining time enjoying the important stuff.

Bush: "It was a joy to watch Tony at the podium each day."

"On the other hand, that's one fewer "tell all" books I have to worry about."

The second sentence is a made up quote by Amus. Using Tony Snow's death to make a cheap at Bush, is sick and tasteless.

I disagree.
I'd guess it's true. That's what kind of guy the WPE is.

This is a big surprise. 53 seems pretty young to be dying from colon cancer, although I had pictured Snow as being younger than that, for some reason. I guess that colon cancer could happen to anybody, not just people who are 65+.

Tony Snow's mother died of colon cancer when he was a teenager.
