http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/10/nyregion/10email.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=sl ogin I had to read the story twice to understand exactly what happened. But what it boils down to is this: - a Mr. Hallowell emailed his boss to resign - boss responded politely - boss send a 2nd email to, by accident, a different Mr. Hallowell. - 2nd (wrong) Mr. Hallowell replied with an abusive, obscene email - boss reported 1st Mr. Hallowell to the cops - cops arrested 1st Mr. Hallowell, who had absolutely zero to do with sending the abusive email (it was the boss's mistake that initiated it) 1st Mr. Hallowell was held in custody for 30 hours; it took three court appearances and four months until the cops finally dropped the charges. Now Mr. Hallowell is suing them (rightly) for bungling this so badly. It's scary in this day and age that law enforcement could be this ignorant of technology!!! Andrew
