Set to testify today before a committee of the US House, Karl Rove refused. I say throw him in jail. He's a private citizen and his claim of executive privilege does not fly. Just another example of a George W. Bush protégé who behaves as if he or she is above the law. Rove, who served as Deputy White House Chief of Staff, has done other things which merit serious question, including using a Republican National Committee e-mail account to conduct federal communication in addition to his role in the prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman. Plus he was involved in the firings of several US Attorneys – going as far as to have one of his own unqualified cronies replace a well respected US Attorney in Arkansas. |

Why would someone not want to testify under oath? |

Another I. Lewis Libby episode -- puts him above the law. Just another example of how rotten the George W. Bush Administration behaves. |

Because he would have to tell the truth and the truth is that there were a lot of lies told by many people. |

It isn't the Democrats business why Bush fired Judges or Lawyers. That's what they're always investigating. |

If there's a perception that the law has been broken, I think it is the Democrat's business if people continue to hold back information. |

But it is the Democrats business if Rove schemed to have the former Governor of Alabama prosecuted because he was a Democrat. If Rove used his authority as Deputy White House Chief of Staff to force the Justice Department to engage in a witch-hunt, it sure is Congresses business. |

Heard on the Peter B Collins show that Turd Blossom has left the country. Conyers will give 5 days for him to comply, then move for a contempt vote. |

Lets go slow on Rove (and Cheney, DeLay et al) and let Bush's term end so they can't be pardoned. |

Karl Rove is offering up excuses why he won't testify before the US Congress. He wants to do it on his terms -- which obviously means he refuses to testify under oath because if he lies, he could be found guilty of perjury. He’s clearly behaving like he's got something to hide. I say throw his ass in jail. He weaseled his way out of the Valerie Plame affair, now he’s trying to do the same in relation to the US Attorney’s firings and the political prosecution of the former governor of Alabama Donald Siegelman. |
