What exactly was SUCCESSFULL during his run at Z100? Anyone?

As I understand, the Z100 relaunch in 2002 was considered a success because it got people talking about the station and tuning in at 5 PM that Friday to figure out what was going on.

U understand wrong. Any buzz created for 5pm friday was gone by 5:30 that same friday as NOTHING had changed. And during the Hayes tenure, KXJM had it's most consistant and dominating run vs Z100. I know because I was collecting EVERY bonus I had during those years. lol.

The only thing Michale Hays did was come in AND FIRE all Herritage personalities that made Z100 great.

Michael Hays is a TOOL and completely DESTROYED Z100! He is the one to blame for Z100's demise.

But at least he could probably spell successful.

I'd still rather have the bonus checks and ratings over the ability to spell successful.

Its amazing that one guy could come in and do that much damage to one station. I would hire my dog to program a Top 40 station over Michael Hayes. Ck and The Badboy Broadcast was the only only one who didn't get thrown out of that station. I'm sure Hayes wanted to fire him also, But because he was only 4 months into his contract he couldn't.

Michael Hayes sure did FUCK UP one great top 40 station. That station has sounded like crap ever since.
Id love to hear Ck and The Badboy Broadcast on jammin 1075 in the afternoons. Although Im guessing CBS won't put out the money to get him.

Michael Hayes should be described as a "has been", however, I'm not sure he's ever "been". The guy was a joke at Z100. His ego was Google but his results were Enron. He took a station that sucked and made it worse. Time to face reality and find a fast food management job.

I remember that 2002 Z100 relaunch and my reaction: "Is the new sound of Z100 that of a computer soundcard?"

It should read more like....If you don't succeed at any stations you
touch then you suck!!!! Sounds like the common thread is nothing he touched has turned to gold but to shit. So he sucks as his track
record indicates.

MIke hayes fired quite a few big named dj"s that went to their next gig and blew up.
Jackie and bender in seattle were fired by hayes in Pittsubrgh a month after he told them to buy a house. the sales dept at clear channel hated him and then he fired the entire staff after a #1 across the board book(see winter 2002 arb)..Z100"s numbers never did bounce back from that douchbag's run at KKRZ.
he then got a gig in San Diego and tried to push morning ledgends Jeff and Jer around, and they got him fired in 7 seconds. word is he wants the Entercom pd opening at 105.1 and has been calling them daily for the job.what would Nelson say about that?

Didn't he fire Tony Coles, while using a racial slur? That guy is a lawsuit waiting to happen, especially in today's business climate.
