Our kids, kids will be paying for that too.

Talk about a damper on progress and innovation! That monthly drain will keep us from doing a lot of great things. Call it forced conservatism.

Can't spend what the Republicans already wasted!

And don't forget, every single penny of this money is borrowed and we are paying interest to the Chinese.

Forget "the kids" argument for a minute.

The thing that really ticks me off is when these politicos say "there's not enough money" for necessities to go around IN THIS COUNTRY, yet have no problem with paying to overthrow other countries' governments and messing them up.

I bet the war would be over real quick if a slate of congressional and senate candidates said "we will vote 'no' on any and all war spending bills, no matter what the war supporters throw in." If it can't get through congress, it doesn't go anywhere.

The paychecks would no longer get cut. Nobody has incentive to continue. Everyone goes home... just not in flag-draped caskets.

The only time you see George W. Bush talk passionately about anything is when Congress passes one of his war supplementals. I can’t imagine how anyone who voted for this loser can look themselves squarely in the eye and say “I’m proud to have voted for George W. Bush”. I just think back at all those people with those stupid “W” 04 stickers on their vehicles. What in God’s green Earth were they thinking? I nearly cried when he was re-elected. How could this happen? The man is a witless boob with the IQ of a cantaloupe.

The Oregonian ran a story recently on what needs to be spent on necessary infrastructure projects. But rather than making the appropriate investments domestically, we’ve spent close to a trillion dollars on a war half way around the world. The net result, every major global petrochemical chemical company is clamoring to get into the Iraqi marketplace. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney got their wish.

I sincerely hope George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz or any member of their blood thirsty neo-conservative cabal land their asses in the Hague for crimes against humanity. Nothing would please me more than to see George W. Bush on trial defending himself for all the lies he and his administration have told during the eight years of his presidency. He deserves to be punished, not given a federal pension with lifelong medical benefits, Secret Service protection and an office.

In retrospect, it makes the whole Clinton impeachment episode seem so absolutely ludicrous when compared to the crimes committed by George W. Bush. Bush should be in prison making license plates and eating nutraloaf all the while keeping Bubba at bay.

I hope rural Oregon remembers this. Our government won't give them $238 million will but sign the check for $162 billion to piss away in Iraq. $162 billion would help 680 states like Oregon.

It's deliberate too. One artifact of this heavy war spending on credit is that better programs are artifically hobbled.

Of course, big, greedy business is there to help.

Most recent victim, Medicaid. The addition of the private plans has now began to mess with the system as a whole. Profits are way up for the insurers, and very soon you will hear talk about patients not getting covered, not finding doctors and doctors complaining that the plan just does not pay enough.

Recent victim: US Post office.

Stamps now assure delivery no matter when they were purchased. Large companies can buy in bulk, then place deliveries at a later time, and on our dime, I might add.

Also, rate and fee structures were changed to favor big business, leaving the little guy to carry a much higher burden.

There are lots of others.
