The KOIN translator in Bend K07YM. Has been given a new set of call letters KBNZ-LP. |

What you posted above didn't click with me until I found out the translator was the old K11SE channel 11. I could hardly pick it up in Bend ten years ago when I passed through using my Sony FDL-370 TV. It's still only running 73 watts as KBNZ-LP from Awbrey Butte. |

Bend station will become local CBS later this year. |

There was an article in the Bend Bulletin about it. KBNZ is to launch before the fall season starts and they will eventually have local news. It doesn't say if they are going HD or not. CBS is the only major network that does not broadcast over the air in HD in Bend. Does anyone know if they are upgrading? |

This KOIN, KBNZ-LP plan reminds me of what KPDX, & KFXO-LP did years ago in Bend. |

This doesn't look like much. It's 73 watts on channel 7. It appears to cover the center of Bend. If the local cable company is carrying it, maybe that's enough. I don't see an application for digital or anything else beyond what it already is. |

Yes but KBNZ-LP is directional with a city grade signal to about where Bend Parkway runs. |

I took the pattern into consideration. Presumably, they will eventually switch to digital and greatly improve coverage. |
