Dunno about anyone else, but when the temperature and humidity reaches where it's been the last few days here in Portland, it's the humidity that gets to me more than the heat. Also noticed (on the clear days anyway) a lot less chemtrails in the sky than the last few years. Anyone else digress or have other weather-related observations?

Some of the best money I've ever spent was the $2300 I dropped to put AC in our house when we moved in. Inside my house, every day is the same not matter what it's doing outside.

We are looking into a heat pump. More eco-friendly then central air. However there are some amazing windows out today that can help keep your house or parts of it comfortable. We put in some new double hung windows this past January and along with the other insulation we've put in the house is pretty comfortable. But I melt in heat and humidity. I don't know how those in the deep south handle it. I'm such a wimp.

We have had a heat pump at this location for 20 years, I doubt that our total energy use decreased, but the energy saved heating in the winter pretty much makes the summer cooling free. Not a bad deal
