Yes! The sharper the better to contrast with the jam.

Even better would be WSU Creamery's "Cougar Gold", that stuff is da' bomb...

Make up a batch of tunafish, cut up some tillamook cheddar into little tiny cubes, cut up some green apple in tiny little cubes, cut up some dill pickle in little tiny cubes, mix it all together and you have an awesome sandwich! Weird but most EXCELLENT!

Throw some Garlic in that Tuna also Temper. I love garlic in My tuna Sandwich. And If you're having a tuna sandwhich don't forget to have one of those HUGE Vlasic Pickles along side. Its almost sinful to have a Tunafish Sandwhich without a pickle.

Love my toast BURNT! I hate under-cooked toast.
I grew up eating toast that was totally black, manily because my mother was such an awful cook, and would always burn my toast. Guess it stuck with me because I love burnt toast. When I'm having breakfast out, I always tell the server to "Burn the hell out of my toast, I like it black."

So many people still have a problem with sushi but is there nothing better than a spicy tuna roll or an unagi roll. Shit now I am craving sushi.

Not much I wouldn't try at least once food wise. About 80% of the stuff on Anthony Zimmer's Bizzare Foods I would try.

But damn is sushi good!

Shyguy, We need to have sushi together, I've been craving it for a couple of weeks, and need a big dose of cheap conveyer-belt instant gratification!

And I HATE burnt toast! I like it barely toasted, NO brown!

Tunafish with no crunchy dill pickle IS a sin.

If I order Tuna melt (My fave!) I always ask: Onions? Miracle Whip? Sweet pickles? No dice on any of those, I'll throw up! There's nothing worse than biting into any one of those three ingredients.

Skep, aren't raw potatoes toxic? Or is that just the green ones? You do live on the edge, my friend!

Toxic?

Crap!! I like them too --with salt.

Miracle Whip should be banned. Talk about a case of failed expectations. Biting into what appears to be a good sandwich only to find out it's been spoiled huge with that crap! There are few things worse for me. Maybe chugging diet pop, expecting regular pop.

How about Rice Cakes and Grape Juice?

Eggs with Tobasco, is another one everybody I know hates, but I love it.

God! I hope not!!

I like a tuna sandwich with potato chips.
Peanut butter & catsup sandwich.
Boloney ("bologna" looks funny) ground up with Miracle Whip & sweet pickles.

I'm also a sushi fan.

Captain Crunch Cereal, but instead of putting milk in it, you add chocolate milk. 2% Chocolate milk. OR

Grill a nice cheese hamburger on the grill with all the topings, BUT instead of using hamburger buns, use two Krispy Kreme glazed donuts as the buns. Try it. Your taste buds will explode. The combo of sweet and saltiness is to die for!
Trust me, You'll be thanking me later.

The next PDXRadio get-together should feature some of these food experiments.

My own list is not as eclectic:

Frog legs
Octopus (or squid)
Sushi
Spaghetti with chili instead of meat sauce

I discovered the last item on that list somewhat recently. I could have sworn that people were laughing at me for "mistaking" the chili for a spaghetti topping. The cafeteria cashier was frustrated because this didn't fit in the pricing scheme for the different entrees and sides being offered that day.

A "twinkie wiener sandwich". It's a Weird Al thing that I picked up on as a kid. (Specifically it's from "UHF", about ten minutes into the film when they are in Al's flat after they got fired from Burger World.) Basically you microwave a hot dog and you put it in a twinkie cut open part-way, like a hot-dog bun. Then you spray some Easy Cheese over the top (I like American myself.) Wash it down with Gatorade or two-day-old coffee if you have some.

Mum just cringes at the idea, but this is practically what Dennis and I survived on when we would do MX tours............ ;o)

(Of course, it also helps to have a battery-powered microwave in the truck.)

Edit add--
Beano--around the holidays, try using eggnog on your cereal. Another idea that my Mum often wonders "where the F did that boy learn that?" but I don't think one can get their diet any further into the Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's/etc. spirit than that. ;o)

Note: DON'T put extra sugar on your cereal if you do this! There's really satisfyingly sweet and then there's just excessiveness...........

neaps and tatties

And I thought I knew almost everything about food. So Herb what the hell are neaps and tatties?

I have always thought Haggis would be a horrible thing but once I saw it actually made on Anthony Zimmer's and Anthony Bourdain's respective shows I have re thought it and think it may not be too bad if I only had to have it once a year as is the tradition. I just don't think my body would like all those ground up organs as it would almost instantly trigger the GOUT. Uric Acid is not my friend!

So do I, but that is when I am using regular milk, not eggnog! I guess it's just personal preference......I mean, my own Grandparents don't really think I'm too sweet either. ;o)

Echo on the 2%-versus-1%-or-Skim thing. I like 2% especially in coffee and don't mind 1% (I was raised on it, literally) but Skim is just like drinking white water. In other words why even bother?

MMMMMM I love cookie dough uncooked, I have been known to make a batch of cookie dough and eat the entire batch before it goes into the oven. Breyers has the best Chocolate chip Cookie Dough Icecream it is delicious. The problem is I can't stop eating it. The other night I ate almost half the carton of Icecream because it was soooo good. The only problem was I'm lactose intolerant so, I was farting up a storm the entire night. My girlfriend made me go sleep in the Yugo because my gas was so bad!

As a kid I LOVED chocolate chip cookie dough. I'd sneak into the kitchen and take a grap of it while my mom was elsewhere. When she caught me, she'd tell me how sick I'd get if I continued eating it.

Oh, burnt popcorn kernels. I'd always go to the bottom of the bowl looking for those burnt popcorn kernels.

Frozen banana's.

First you take a ripe banana, dip it in chocolate fudge, then put it in the freezer for one hour.

While out camping, take a Banana and peel back just the top peel, take a knife and slit the banana down the middle, then squish it open like you would a baked potato and fill it with little chocolate chips and little marshmallows, wrap it in foil and put it in the coals of the campfire for about 5 minutes, remove, unwrap, and eat! Put on some whipped cream for a little extra added goodness!

I like the pigs feet, but the whole idea of head cheeze, mustard or not, just doesn't sit well with me. It does not taste bad though --it's the idea that's bad.

'Head cheese (AmE) or brawn (BrE) is in fact not a cheese, but rather a terrine of meat from the head of a calf or pig (sometimes a sheep or cow). It may also include meat from the feet and heart. It is usually eaten cold or at room temperature as a luncheon meat. It is sometimes also known as souse meat, particularly if pickled with vinegar.

Historically the cleaned (all organs removed) head was simmered to produce a gelatin (formed from the collagen in the bone) containing any incidental meat which came off the head. The more modern method involves adding gelatin to meat, which is then cooked in a mould.'

If I had a foot fetish I would suck on some pigs toes don't need the whole alcoholic necrophilia thing to go along with it. LOL

How about Ceviche
