So I've ben listening To The middays with Alexa and I've notced that CBS is muzzling her. She doesn't say much of anything. This seems a bit ridiculous .This isn't k-lite but its programmed like it is. This is really too bad because Alexa is an awesome talent, BUT again CBS seems to be clueless on how to program a hip hop station, When will they ever learn? This is not good radio at all. Let the jocks have some personality. LINER CARD RADIO WON'T WORK ON JAMMIN, WAKE UP CBS!!!!!

CBS has done a VERY POOR JOB at trying to execute the station.
The station sounds so bland! It doesn't have the energy or excitement that 95.5 had.
Where are the contests?
Where are the personalities?
They still have no afternoon jock on the station.
Jammin is starting to sound exactly LIKE MOVIN! BLAND AND BORING.

Well it's not like it's a new format or anything like that - it was just a move up the dial. So I'd say by now they should have their so-called "$hit" together.

Well, Regardless of what people say, I think 1075 is going to run into trouble especially since they are voice tracking tell 3pm. This may work for k103 but not a station like Jammin. Especially now that kids are out of school and listening to the radio more often. So basically 10am-3pm will be dead hours. No Contests, no shout outs, no nothing.I've heard some really small market Hip Hop stations that are live in the middays, running contests, lots of great listener interaction, high energy even at 11 in the afternoon. The energy never slows down. The energy starts in the morning and continues on even through the early morning hours like 2 am. Unlike most formats, kids are listening to Jammin at 2 in the morning because what 16 year old goes to sleep by midnight in the summer time??? No one. They are out having fun and hopefully listening to the radio.(that is, IF they like the product). I think that the Jammin format is the one format you can't skimp on to save money. I think CBS thought they could run this station as cheap as possible and still get ratings. They will soon be in for a rude awakening. Top 40 stations like Z100 built there listening audience and loyalty to the great energy Z100 once had. There was not one daypart that slowed down or lacked energy, it was a 24/7 high energy format with TONS of phoners, live interaction on the air. Sadly thats whats missing from Z100 today, and that is why Z100 hasn't sounded good in over 10 years.

Yeah......that's what people were saying about Charlie's FM in its forst couple months as well. Almost four years on the air now and it STILL sounds like they are trying to get their shit together.

(I have posted in various spots on Radio Info, alias "motomuzak", that I have a bet with a friend of mine @ work riding on that Jammin' will only last about a year before they flip formats. In fact I have dinner at McCormick & Shmicks riding on that very bet.......)

CBS Radio (Portland) should've had their sh*t together, long ago. (107.5's audio processing still sounds like crap, by the way.) CBS knows how to win with heritage Rhythmic stations (KSFM) in Sacramento and (KLUC) Las Vegas. Portland is a larger market, so there's no excuse for the way KXJM is sounding.

Well, I don't care HOW straped for Cash CBS is, Voicetracking for 5 hours in the day on Jammin is RETARDED! I'll give Jammin 5 months, Unless they seriously start to put some time, money and effort into the station. If I was PK and the playhouse I would be PISSED of how little effort CBS is putting into Jammin 1075.(and I'm sure he probably is.) I've heard non radio people talk about how 1075 doesn't sound even close to as good as the old jammin 95.5
CBS should try to Bring Alexa up to Portland and have her do LIVE Middays at Jammin 1075. She is an awesome talent, BUT would sound so much better doing her show LIVE in Portland!

Watch PK and the Playhouse show bail on the station if they can. Either that or a slow painful meltdown over the next coupla months.

Its gotta really suck for those in the key demo's of both Z100 and Jammin cuz both stations are disasters. It doesn't have to be that way though.

Question though is the same guy MD/PD at KUFO the same as Jammmin? Maybe if its the same guy things won't end up so bad given some time to build. (Even though I don't care any longer for 101.1 they seem to be doing something right when it comes to personalities on that station.)

Have you listened to KUFO Lately??? That station is sounding AWESOME! In my opinion Kufo has never sounded this good ever! The Variety of music is incredible. Kudos to KUFO they are sounding awesome, LIVE air talent on all dayparts and they have increased the variety of rock too. The other day I heard "Stone Cold Crazy" By Queen on KUFO. I think the station is starting to expand their playlist and its sounding great! Was listening to Kufo a few minutes ago and they are soing the "smells like the 90's weekend" and they are bringing back EVERYTHING- Seven Mary Three, AIC, really deep pearl jam tracks.
Kufo is by far the best station in portland, hands down. The music is great and the jocks are all having fun and ARE ALL LIVE during the week, EVEN THE OVERNIGHT WOMAN ON KUFO IS LIVE!!! This is how all radio stations should sound!

So, JT, If you are so enamored by KUFO and they seem to appeal to you 24/7, Why do you care what Jammin 107 or 95.5 or wherever is doing? You seem to have found Nirvana with KUFO so why would you change the station?

JT should just become regional operations manager for a cluster in PDX, maybe CBS since he's so "in-tune" with what works in radio and specifically those radio stations under the CBS umbrella.
