Some gas-station owners are offering cash discounts, while a few are rejecting credit cards. |

And some are bumping their credit price while displaying the cash price. Always look at the pump, then ask the credit price. |

Well the cash price is always displayed in the big letters and numbers ... and sometimes the credit price is on a readerboard on the ground. I'm sure they try to make it as conspicous as possible, so people are suckered into the card transaction. |

Won't accept credit cards? Then no business from me! Charge more for gas with a credit card? No business from me! |

And they still charge you to use debit cards at the pay islands. Besides that, ARCO gas is crap, or at least the additives in it are! |

BANK CARDS ARE THE #1 form of currency used today! Yes, more people use bank cards than they do cash! If Gas Stations are turning against bank cards/credit Cards than they are idiots, because customers will go elsewhere. |

I actually use a debit card, not a credit card, but to me it's the same thing...cashless payment with no change to lose or blow on gumballs. In fact, I can go over a month without spending one single greenback out of my wallet. |

Online bill pay is pretty killer, with the exception that you're paying bills. |

I didn't even think people even write checks anymore especially since you can pay all of your bills on line(Which is a much smarter choice, in my opinion) |

I would be paying all my bills on line however, our sanitation service is not set up for that at this time. |

I use US Bank online bill pay, so if someone doesn't accept electronic payment, US Bank generates a check and mails it them for me. They will even send a check to an individual. So, I pay all bills online and write about 3 checks a year! |

I've been with US Bank for about 22 years, and I've never had a problem with them. Their banks and ATM's are everywhere, they're online banking is flawless, and their customer service has always been pretty darn good. In fact, a few years ago I waited in line for about 10 minutes in the drive thru, and they credited my account $5 without me complaining or saying anything about it. And when some jerk stole my wife's debit card number and charged up $360 worth of crap at a gas station, they credited us that money back within 24 hours without hassle. |

Vit, I just had the same experience with my credit union. $200 in mysterious charges, and they credited it back with basically no questions asked. When I inquired about ways I could prevent such an occurrence again the teller just shrugged her shoulders. Identity theft is becoming a pretty common crime, and the banks are realizing it is becoming harder for their patrons to avoid being a victim. |

Our situation came about due to a purchase my wife made at a local nursery. Someone working at there stole her debit card information from the sales records. We saw the charge the day after it occured and reported it both to US Bank and the police. We provided our bank statements to the police to review, and after some research, they fiugred out that there was another person in the area that had the same type of fraud occur (card not stolen, but information off the card). Low and behold, both that person and my wife both made a purchase at the same nursery on the same day. This dirtbag was eventually arrested, which we were happy to hear. |
