What's the perfect classic TV show that could be turned into a trashy movie: Bonanza.

You have the violence angle. Quentin Tarantino would have to direct this movie. Think about it! Strangers pass through the Ponderosa? They'll be beat up or killed by indians, robbers, or Hoss Cartwright.

431 total TV episodes, at about 3 killings per episode? 1300 homicides! They should have renamed the Cartwright's ranch from the Ponderosa to the Killing Fields. Any movie director worth his or her salt could squeeze in at least HALF of this mayhem into a feature length movie.

You have the romance angle. If Little Joe didn't propose to the guest star girl, Adam would! Even Hoss was allowed to propose to the girl once a year! And if Little Joe actually ended up marrying guest star girl, BANG! She's dead! And always before that last commercial break! Quentin, kill her with style, please!

And then there's the dad, Ben Cartwright. Three wives. Each son born to a different wife. And all three wives, dead? And Ben ends up with a 500 square mile ranch? I'm thinking insurance fraud. Or better yet, Mafia involvement! What if Ben Cartwight married into the mob, times three mob wives! And what if he ripped off the mob to buy the Ponderosa!

Think of ol' Wilfred Brimley's character in the Grisham movie "The Firm", in a cowboy way, killing off the Cartwrights one by one, until Tom Cruise (as Adam, of course!) saves the day by agreeing to cooperate with Pinkertons!

Hop Sing, their houseboy! Think about the politically correct aspects! What if they made Hop Sing a gay character! Queer eye for the cowboy guys!

Bonanza has so many angles for a sleazy summer blockbuster! Let's take a meeting!

Hawaii Five-O might make a good, trashy B movie. It'll depend on finding someone with hair like Jack Lord. The rest is easy.

I always thought back before it was actually remade that Scooby Doo would make for a great remake with Shaggy played by a Jim Carey circa early to mid 90's.
