It's interesting to follow the day to day changes in the map as new polls come in. Today, they show Obama with 317 EV's. Only 270 are needed to win. Along with keeping all of the states won by Kerry, Obama is projected to pick up CO, IA, MO, NM, OH, and VA. |

And people need to become acutely in tune with the electoral tally. Hillary pushed her strengths in the "popular election" during her campaign, but as we learned in 2000 it's all about the electoral college. |

It looks like this site does not include the latest poll from FL showing Obama ahead. Give Obama another 27 EV's. |

It's a long, long few months til election day. The swing voters who decide every election most likely haven't begun to pay serious attention to which candidate they'll vote for in November. After Labor Day we can start taking these polls a little more seriously. Before that, they don't mean all that much. |
