If war with Iran is on the table, then so is impeachment.

Then we just get stuck with Darth Cheney for the duration. Either way we are screwed!

Articles of impeachment have been submitted against both Bush and Cheney (thanks, Dennis). Congress could begin proceedings against both simultaneously, and make it a two-fer. Streamlined and efficient - the fiscal conservatives would love it.

So who would that leave in charge then?

Nancy Pelosi

Hmmmmm.....I fear she is in bed with Bush. She has after all been against impeachment from the beginning. I think this is the dirtiest administration in US history and they just don't want us to know how deep the rabbit hole really is!

I have similar fears, DT. There are almost no evidentiary limits during impeachment (since it is not a criminal trial, but rather a 'job performance review') so lots of stuff would come out that could potentially hurt party leaders on both sides of the aisle. And I think that would be a good thing. if political pressure for impeachment becomes overwhelming (such as if Bush moved to war with Iran without congressional approval) then I think it would be time to show Bush the door. Even if he only has a few weeks left in office, such misdeeds cannot remain unaddressed.

I think Mr. Cheney would be a good president.

Maybe as good as Mr. Nixon, though he would have a much shorter term.

Impeach away, liberals.

Enter into the leadership of Nixon II

Herb, let me run some things by you since you are such a supporter of THE administration.

What were the reasons Bush gave us for invading Iraq? Well at the time we were supposed to be fighting a war on terrorism. Sound pretty good, however they could find no connection between Saddam Insane and Bin Laden, in fact it later came out they hated each other. On to the next reason, we are going in to take away weapons of mass destruction. Well as Homer Simpson would say, D'OH. No weapons of mass destructions found. So, the eventual reason for invasion was to liberate the people of Iraq. OK again sounds good, BUT what happened to the war on terror?

Here's my point, I have never said regardless of what you cons say that I oppose a war in the middle east. I said at the time Iran was the country we had a beef with and if we were going to invade someone, well they flaunt the nuclear technology in our faces and always have. They freely brag about their support of terrorist organizations, not necessarily Bin Laden, but terrorists none the less. Finally, they too have a repressive government that most Iranian people would like to be rid of.

So Herb, I told you so. This is the battle the people of this country should have supported in the first place instead of following the Bush/Cheney dog and pony show like the lemmings we were being at the time. I really don't want to hear anymore of your war mongering. This is what you should have been wanting along with me five years ago.

"What were the reasons Bush gave us for invading Iraq?"

Actually, the intel and reasons we had were the same used by our European allies.

"This is the battle the people of this country should have supported in the first place instead..."

Okay. You make a very good point. But you must admit that Saddam was a bad guy who killed Kurds and wanted to blow up Israel.

George W. Bush’s October surprise, the invasion of Iraq. In a sick sort of way it makes since; we’ve got more troops in Iraq since the initial invasion – just shift the base of operations a few hundred miles to the east. I could actually see our miscreant president launching an invasion of Iran. It would never work, but that didn’t stop George W. Bush and Dick Cheney from playing arm chair generals. They’ve proven themselves as adept at war planning and execution as Benito Mussolini.

DT, at least we wouldn't have to go to BC to get real Cuban cigars...

And Miami real estate would be even cheaper :-)

The DICKster is an EVIL man and would have a MAJOR heart attack while in office and Nixon was a pussy.
