If war with Iran is on the table, then so is impeachment. |

Then we just get stuck with Darth Cheney for the duration. Either way we are screwed! |

Articles of impeachment have been submitted against both Bush and Cheney (thanks, Dennis). Congress could begin proceedings against both simultaneously, and make it a two-fer. Streamlined and efficient - the fiscal conservatives would love it. |

I have similar fears, DT. There are almost no evidentiary limits during impeachment (since it is not a criminal trial, but rather a 'job performance review') so lots of stuff would come out that could potentially hurt party leaders on both sides of the aisle. And I think that would be a good thing. if political pressure for impeachment becomes overwhelming (such as if Bush moved to war with Iran without congressional approval) then I think it would be time to show Bush the door. Even if he only has a few weeks left in office, such misdeeds cannot remain unaddressed. |

George W. Bush’s October surprise, the invasion of Iraq. In a sick sort of way it makes since; we’ve got more troops in Iraq since the initial invasion – just shift the base of operations a few hundred miles to the east. I could actually see our miscreant president launching an invasion of Iran. It would never work, but that didn’t stop George W. Bush and Dick Cheney from playing arm chair generals. They’ve proven themselves as adept at war planning and execution as Benito Mussolini. |
