I would love to get together with my radio "brethren" and sisters, but I seem to never read about them in time. Is there a secret website where you all find out a secret site and give the secret handshake and drink the secret bourbon??

The old secret site is now an empty storefront on Sandy Blvd. Please propose a new secret site. But don't post it here, in order to keep it secret.

Our old 'secret site' is now going to be a 'Peanut Butter & Ellies'. Perfect for the pre-school set, and Baby M, not so good for those over age 6.

Who's turn is it to "host" the next Bored Meeting? Show of Hands? OK, I nominate Steve.

Just pick a date and a place accessable to MAX...and you're done!

I like the Blue Oyster Bar. If I leave now, I can be there by Sunday evening....

Secret Bourbon? I think it's more like Secret Stella Artois.

Nope its the green waxed Maker's Mark versus the red waxed Maker's Mark.

No but really I think its time for another get together. How about Salem instead of Portland? Something easily accessible to I-5? Or if not I am up for a stumptown gathering?

We will most likely pick a place that will be out of business in no time after our gathering probally.

Wouldn't that be funny, anyplace we show up goes out of business! On that note how about Hooters Jantzen Beach for the next gathering. I for one would like to see that dive tank!

A sure bet would be if there are any Chili's left that are still open. Wilsonville?

What restaurant should be killed by the next PDXRadio get together? Be sure and suggest places that we might actually consider dining/drinking at.

I would propose any Applebees, but I don't think even our negative karma could kill that corporate behemoth.

It was brought up in a previous thread; Big Al's here in Vancouver.

I don't want to see it go out of business. I just think it would be a fun place to meet. We could even Bowl a game or two!

I'm guessing, You mean Salem, Oregon rather than Salem, Ohio... Damn I could have walked. Well I'll hold a place for you at BB Rooners just in case...

So, let me get this straight. I propose a place and time ... You all show up? Do you bring hostess gifts? I just thought of something funny. I did go to a pdxradio.com meet and greet a couple of years ago ... Who Song and Larry's. Only two of us showed. It closed.

That's kind of how it works. Sometimes a lot show up, sometimes only a few. All depends on what everybody is doing, and how much effort goes into sorting that out.

Pick a spot, mail out to the people here, via e-mail addy's in their profile, and it goes from there.

Some don't have e-mails posted here, but most do. That's enough to get everybody, given some lead time.

Signs are already off the building. Still see cars of soon-to-be disappointed people pulling up to the place. Thank God Burger King is next door! :-)

I'm in PDX every few weekends or so since family still lives in West Linn and The "Couve, so those that click on some lists can click mine and let me know. Can't always guarantee it, but hey sounds like a good excuse to have a great drink!

I always thought "Mcadams Bar & Grill" might be a good meeting spot. Heck, afterwords we could run down and try to hit the Tram with some bad tomatoes!

We ought to stop jokin' around and get a few spots, dates and ideas circulating in back channels. I for one would like to meet Steve Lindsley and thank him personally for his journalistic acumen. Then, see if he will share a funny story or two off the record.

So, who wants to start an e-mail circle?

Places we've had get-togethers that I've either been to or have heard of them afterwards (that, to the best of my knowledge, are still open):
Raccoon Lodge on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy. in Raleigh Hills. I think this was the very first one.
McMennimans on W. Burnside. This was the one on April Fools' Day 2007, IIRC.
Bridgeport in the Pearl District. This one, I believe, was set up by the infamous now-gone poster that set up the one Steve went to.
