We are way overdue for one of these.

LS brings solid research skills to many of our threads. I'm often blown away by what he finds. I find myself re-reading many of his posts because they are just so damn good.

I love his ability to weave current commentary with links that back up his position…they are classic.

LS is one of the bright spots for me personally on this message board. He rarely gets involved in our tit for tat garbage that tends to go on and on.

If you ever get a chance to visit his web site I recommend it.

I raise my glass (filled with non-dairy rice dream) to Littlesongs who stands very big among us.

Good call. Damn good call.

I once got an e-mail from Littlesongs, wondering if his posts were somehow not welcome. Like perhaps he was doing too much, actually poking and prodding at people. The moment we exchanged e-mails, we both knew we would be great friends.

That spark is not all that common. I suspect with Littlesongs, it's more common with more kinds of people than we think and that's just good in all the right ways.

Of course, I wrote back, saying, "Absolutely not!" assuring him we would all be better for it.

We are.

Take a bow Littlesongs. You have helped to define the place and I know absolutely that I would seriously miss having you around to just tell us lots of very interesting and relevant things.

I already raised my glass enough this evening, so it's the thought that counts right Little?

Littlesongs and I have shared some personal emails too. We have a kindred spirit and quite simply I just like the guy.

This place would be very dry without him.

Wow.

I am humbled.

Thank you.

Chris and Missing, the feeling is totally mutual. I appreciate all the kind words and they get me -- y'know -- right there behind the ribs. Your friendships are very dear to me. We may have not met without this message board. For that, I'd like to take a moment to thank Dan for bringing us all together. Thanks Dan!

Justin, I always wonder if I am too geeky about music. Then again, with many of the geeky topics in these parts, I oughta relax. We are all in good company. I am amazed at how broader trends in music are often predicted by the diverse flow of our conversations in these parts.

This place proves that local radio -- and in a broader sense the internet -- can still have soul. Even when discussions are heated, we are all better for it. As always, I apologize for any toes that may have been caught under my boots.

I agree with everything said about Littlesongs too. Especially DT's comment about posting more frequently!

I hope that Littlesongs can make the next PDX get together. He is one I'd truly like to meet face to face.

Make it stop! I think I just busted a few ribs.

After meeting him, I believe ALL of the above to be factual.

(Except the dandruff thingy...I think it's been cured by the LSD/egg mixture, as I sure didn't see any, although he did have on his commie pinko Fidel hat, in case Herb showed up))

LMFAO!

I go off and have a conversation with the significant other and look what happens.

Chickenjuggler. Thank you. There will never be a post that tops that one. I'd refute those spurious lies, but I'm laughing too hard.

Thank you so much Craig. It was your history contributions that first brought me here. Over time I have begun to comprehend how much dedication and time you have put into preserving our broadcast heritage. Where else does one of the best talents in the market encourage their peers to give back to the community with their history? Robin Mitchell does, but there are few others in your league. I can't thank you enough.

Thanks Darktemper! I am really glad I know you too. Damn, I really miss you guys when I don't drop in, but I try to catch up. You are right. I should at least say .... . .-.. .-.. --- even if I am just reading what folks have said. If Sammy knew Morse Code he would say -.-. .- -... --- .-- .- -... --- -... .- -... -.-- ! Thanks Bill, we gotta get together, do what they call "hangar flying" and swap a few tales. It would be fun to meet you, and more than a few others that I have yet to meet. It looks like we've got to get a summertime get-together rolling.

Mrs. Merkin, thank you for being the first to welcome me here. I always look forward to your pith, mirth and troll vaporizations. The last one you cooked smelled like pork roast. How come mine always come out smelling like burnt tire?

Thanks Skep! David Sedaris does a hilarious bit about trying to visit the "mythical land of Kirkland" only to get there and discover that it is just a big warehouse. I raise my decaf to you and everyone on this message board!

Might I add that I agree with Chris as well?

LittleSongs is our very own industrial-size can of Lysol "scrubbing bubbles...they do the work so you don't haaaaaaaave too", as he rinses the soap scum, mildew and old pubes down the drain, by doing the research for us! I love that and appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

One of my favorite posters, for sure! (And I assume we have you to thank for bringing EN to the table as well?)

I am so happy and proud to see the accolades for my dear friend Littlesongs.

To those of you who haven't met him personally, I can assure you that the person you know here is the same one you will meet. The writer and the man are one and the same: kind, eloquent, and engaging.

Littlesongs, thank you for introducing me to this experience and all the time with you, well spent.

Littlesongs is one that I truly wish I would have met before moving. He adds his own $.02, but in a very eloquent and diplomatic way. I can't ever remember seeing him resort to the mudslinging that so many of us (present company included) resort to at times in here, and it's a breath of fresh air.

Chris, methinks you should start a thread for CJ just on that post alone. My goodness, I'm in tears.

I echo all sentiments here. Littlesongs and I share similar tastes in music, which is pretty much my #1 criteria for friends. Any Sloan fan is okay by me! I love his posts, and his viewpoint on the world. And he's funny as hell.

You should check out his Myspace, where you can sample his own musical contributions. There is a reason he calls himself Littlesongs.

A tip of the cap to you my friend!

LOL.

Roger, I prefer the term Ranch Ranger. After all, this is the great frontier of the West. It just seems less majestic to call myself a Garden Gnome. I am really glad I know you.

Thanks Trix! Nobody has the chops for CAPS like you do. You are the Joe Satriani of verbage.

Entre_nous, there you go yanking my heartstrings. I am humbled. For the record, I did suggest you drop by and take a look around. You posted of your own freewill without rushing into it. I am really glad you are here and I treasure our friendship.

Brianl, I really wanted to meet you before your pilgrimage to Spoke-a-loo too. There will be a time in the future when either we all get up there, or you get down here and we all get together. It has been a real pleasure to meet you, if only virtually. Eloquent and diplomatic is mighty kind.

Eloquent and hilarious is Chickenjuggler. Damn, you are an all-star. I mean, I have read posts from you in the last week that range from heartfelt and personal to twisted genius. I second the motion that we start a CJ thread.

Herb, that is only partially true. I look big in a small European car like an Austin 10 or Fiat Topolino.

Warner, we are truly brothers in melody. I think we ought to start a mixtape, or as the kids say, CD mix club with CJ. Heck, this could be fun with more than a few folks around here. Mebbe we should start with youtube clips here on the board. It would be a gas to see what sort of stuff we could excavate.

I really dig you all and I am kinda overwhelmed by the love. Thank you again.

I cannot take credit for any of those. They are a modified version of a " Bill Brasky " skit from Saturday Night Live. But for what it's worth, it did make me want to do something special - even if I had to steal it.

Oh man, sorry I'm so late to this party. I got lost driving around on the other side of the board, trying to figure out if KQOL is playing '62-'71 or '64-'72...

It was neat to see you join the group, LS (when I myself was but a wee rookie) and quickly rise to the rank of 'Quality Poster". But it's also really annoying... when I think I've crafted a great post, you have to step in and show how it should have been done. So I'd appreciate it if you would just stop showing off. You showoff.

Oh, you did inspire me to figure out the formatting tools, which are really cool and make my writing look really hot, even when my ideas are shallow and lame. In that case, you showoffy-ness worked out well, at least for me.

Regarding other's observations during this thread:

-Yes, oh man, you are you a music geek. But that's okay...it's like when you are lost, it's handy to have a map geek. Or when you lose a limb in a freak turntable accident, you want a first aid geek around. Geekiness is generally a good thing.

-Like Chris, I find myself re-reading your posts too. I read them backwards to get satanic messages. That Beelzebub - what a cutup! Interestingly, Herb is mentioned often. Thanks for helping to get the word of the Lord of the Underworld to the masses.

-As mentioned, your website is quite nice, and it's another great venue to see how you shine as a writer. I assume you are the lyricist on Let it Snow? Brilliant wordsmithing!

Okay, enough sillyness. Seriously, whenever you post, the thread takes flight and becomes strongly anchored at the same time. Even your bullshit is thoughtful, well crafted and fun to read. Thanks for being here man, and I do look forward to our first handshake.
