Here's the deal. I'm growing weary of shady politics, the fouled economy and all of the heavy stuff in general. So do we have any WWE marks in the building? Good, let's get down to business...

WTF is with the recent departure of the Undertaker from Friday night Smackdown?

Well, the inside iggy is that he's going out for a few months for hip surgery, and that's why he was recently "banished" from the WWE after losing the Heavyweight Championship to Edge. There's no way the WWE would actually cut-loose a cash cow like the Undertaker on a permanent basis. Even if he wanted to really retire (which could be possible after 18 years of nightly physical abuse) he wouldn't go out in such a wimpy manner; the fans wouldn't stand for it and he would deserve a better send-off after all he's done for the "sport".

The other factor here is his (Mark Callaway -aka Undertaker's-) recent divorce from his wife Sara. He's now sporting around with one of the WWE "Divas", Michelle McCool... who's about 20 years his junior and quite the babe. Vince McMahon doesn't like this sort of behavior and he may be sending the Undertaker a reminder of who's really in charge 'round these parts.

In any event, the Undertaker's on a top-dollar, long-term contract, so the time off won't affect him financially. It might be a good time for him to take some time-off, get healed up and let the whole WWE Smackdown script take a different turn for a while. It's gotta' be tough on the younger wrestlers to have the top dog upstaging them night after night.

Now, Edge and Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero (both arch enemies of the Undertaker)are "getting married" (kayfabe) on July 11th, and that may a good moment for the Undertaker to make an appearance to magically set her wedding dress on fire, or some such nonsense... all without having to actually wrestle or compromise himself physically.

On a sidebar, it was good to see local fave Rowdy Rowdy Piper back in the ring last night! He made an appearance backing Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy's cousin Sal in the ring.

But, sigh, if you insist, how 'bout that Obama?

Hey, wouldn't it be great to see him and McCain in a cage match?

Nice thread idea, BTW. There have got to be some fans in the building. I'm not one of them, but for the occasional mind numbing yell at the screen with buddies session.

LOL. Don't watch much WWE anymore. But I like to consider myself the resident wrestling fanatic. Here is my take on Undertaker. It has been my understanding that UT is ready for retirement and will probally be doing the HOF/Farewell at WrestleMania. McMahon is no idiot and realizes that no matter what UT decides to do between now and then that he is a built in cash-cow for McMahon in terms of merchandising. You have Hulk Hogan and you have the Undertaker. To outsiders and non wrestling fans these are the two most recognizable names still living in the wrestling business. Vince doesn't even have to try and promote the Undertaker as a character. Its wrestling merchandising that sells itself no matter if Undertaker is an active name or not.
