How about:

"Don't try to stop me girl, you can't have your way
Don't try to stop me girl, nothin' you can say
Live like you wanna live and stay where you wanna stay
I just gotta go and get back to the Bay"

Try this one:

"As the young men move out into the battle zone
He feels good, with God you're never alone
He feels so tired as he lays on his bed
Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said"

Tight pants and lipstick
She's riding on a razor's edge
She holds her own against the boys
Yea, cuts through the crowd just like a wedge
Ohh, can you feel the static
So many contacts being made
We've got up front fanatics
Tearing down the barricade
To reach the stage
Can you feel the rage

Sky bill pilot?

Ding ding ding! A winner!

How about this one:

I was sitting in the bathtub
counting my toes
when the radiator broke
water all froze
I got stuck in the ice
without my clothes
naked as the eyes of a clown
I was crying ice cubes
hoping I'd croak
when the sun come through the window
the ice all broke
I stood up and laughed
thought it was a joke
that's the way that the world goes 'round.

Very underrated soundtrack. I have it on CD and there is Gold on it. One shot's you will never ever hear on air. "Heavy Metal(Takin a Ride)" from Don Felder is AWESOME. As is "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" by Blue Oyster Cult. Sammy Hagar, Riggs, Devo, Cheap Trick, Donal Fagen, Nazareth, Journey, Grand Funk Railroad, Black Sabbath, Trust, and Stevie Nicks round out an incredible line-up.

"Behind the pantry, behind the tree, the ghouls adopt that child
Whose name resounds forever, whose name resounds on terror"

If you know the above without googling it, I'm impressed.
Famous band, first album, first cut.

"Girl with a heart that keeps on changing,
Girl with a mind that's moving on,
Picking up on things..."

OK, that's from the man that could have had Robert Plant's position in Led Zeppelin, but passed on it and recommended Robert to Jimmy, in his stead. (That should be enough to figure out who he is, but you won't find this lyric by googling it).

"I was smoking I needed some,
Three penny matches and chewing gum,
Started shivering one day,
Boogie woogie is OK"

Before founding the Knack, this artist was in a band with a three letter name. From their second album.

The name of this song should be easy but from what group:

I’m just an ordinary man
I wasn’t born to be a soldier in a foreign land
Now I’m a prisoner of war
I don’t know what I’m fighting for
You tore me from my simple life
To die hear naked

That was so cold
Cold
Just like the lies that you told
Cold
Nothing but ice in your soul
Cold
The side of you nobody knows
Cold
And everyone loves you

Too young too innocent to know
How far your master plan would go
You crucify the name of God
Is nothing sacred

Damn you’re so cold
Cold
Just like the lies that you told
Cold
Nothing but ice in your soul
Cold
The side of you nobody knows
Cold
And everyone loves you

Damn you’re so cold
Cold
Just like the lies that you told
Cold
Nothing but ice in your soul
Cold
The side of you nobody knows
Cold
And everyone loves you

So Cold
Cold
Just like the lies that you told
Cold
Nothing but ice in your soul
Cold
The side of you nobody knows
Cold

Thats too bad because KGON's music is really starting to sound stale. I've been listening to KGON less and less. Kgon's playlist is WAAAAAAY TOO conservetive. They only play the big hits and they NEVER play any deep tracks. Im really starting to get impressed with Kufo's playlist. Have you listened to the station lately? Musically it sounds great. They are playing really deep tracks that I havent heard In YEARS! The other day Bozyk played "Humans being" By Van Halen on His "Smells like the 90's feature. When was the last time KGON played "Humans being"???

OK Roger, I'll just talk to you for a minute: Tonight, I heard Otis Redding's version of "Try A Little Tenderness". The song was a good 30 years old then. I was surprised how much Three Dog Night had borrowed from him. I always thought their version was unique!

Three Dog Night had a habit of covering someone's song, changing a lyric and taking credit for it on the album. In their defense, there was a LOT of that going on at that time. "Suitable For Framing" has only two songs were really written by someone in the group, all the rest are really written by other folks most of whom were not listed as authors when the record was released.

That's not really what I was going for. "Try A Little Tenderness" is an old standard. I was just surprised by the similarities with Otis Redding's cover.
