Okay here's one that I did and to this day I still feel awful.

Was doing a mobile DJ gig about 10 years ago in Yakima WA for a high school dance that doubled as a pep rally for the football team. So parents and students were both attending.

Many of the parents were wearing their kid’s jerseys that evening. I asked for two parent volunteers to come forward to help with a particular dance to help break the ice.

Two moms immediately ran up and stood in front of my table about 15 feet in front. So looking at the moms and the numbers on their jersey's I say (paraphrasing here) " Hey it looks like we got a Quarterback (pointing out mom #1) and a Linebacker up here." (Inferring that she was a bit larger of a woman)

Mom #2 was deeply hurt by what I said and boy she gave me a glare that I will never forget. I know I stumbled around to gather not only my words but my gut as well. I just couldn't believe I said what I said.

I wanted to apologize to the woman so badly but I'm afraid the damage was done. I was looking for the right moment but it never materialized.

The only solace I have is that I wasn't a local DJ. I couldn't get out of Dodge that night fast enough.

I was at a wedding once and the DJ had done a great job all night. Except when he went to tell the Bride and Groom that their limo was here. He said "Your hearse has arrived". I asked him later what happened and he said he meant to say "coach" but hearse came out instead. Priceless!!

Oh man don't get me started about wedding mishaps. Thankfully mine have been pretty slim. However when those who have tipped a few give toasts....those are priceless....if not downright damaging.
