Look at the picture when you click on the url. Combined age of all the men? Do they look like the age demo we want making more decisions in Washington?

I heard that Senator McCain is now forced to move some of his "public" fundraisers with President Bush from large venues to private homes because they can't sell enough tickets to fill the venues. And this is in Phoenix.

He's also putting the word out for hired comment trolls so that he takes less of a beating online.

Nice.

If you are successful at parroting the talking points each day, you earn "Action Points". Probably redeemable for McCain swag, or cash.

There is a story in Sunday’s New York Times about problems inside the McCain campaign. Frankly, I would expect more from the GOP political machine. Given Senator McCain’s early victory in the GOP primaries, you’d think that they’d be on message. But it doesn’t seem to be the case. Where is McCain's Karl Rove? He sure as heck needs someone to light a fire under this seemingly lackluster effort.

Actually Karl Rove is an advisor to the McCain effort. George Stephonopolis outed him today on the talk shows.

Also today Rove said the GOP problems are not his fault.

The machine is doing what it always does. The problem is the very serious disconnect between that noise and the reality of the situation.

I'm sure that's a part of what Rove is talking about.

I guess the reality of the situation speaks well for Obama and the Democrats this fall.

Totally. Given we have a two party system, it's one or the other.

The more interesting dynamic to me seems to be the lower level strategy of redefining parties.

If you look at that, we've got at least four parties. Neo-conservative Republicans and American Republicans -vs- Progressive "more and better" Democrats and Old School Democrats.

Some of our choice is indirect, but it's still there. It just takes longer.

IMHO, as the neo-conservative faction dies down, something else, branded Republican, will take it's place, probably using the "elect more and better" tactic to assert itself.

I believe a lot of this runs under the radar for many Americans. I don't know if it's true for a majority or not, but it's not a small number of people.

I also believe more Democratic voters are aware of things at that level than Republicans are. This is due to the very strong effort made to reach their current state and the greater emphasis on authoritarian means and methods.

So, it speaks well for Democrats generally, but not all Democrats. Those not willing to play new school ball, will get targeted in primaries and will either shape up, or be replaced.

That's all gonna start for Republicans after the party gets hammered this election.

The big game changer appears to be the Internet and it's ability to allow ordinary people to pool their ideas, resources and money toward their goals.

Both party establishements, or depending on how thick your tin foil hat is, the corporate establishment, isn't happy about this development, particularly after they got their "money is speech" and "corporations are people too" court rulings.

Both of those combined create a class system where we have ordinary people and super people that may or may not actually be people!

That's a big part of what the whole Net Neutrality business is about. I also believe it plays into the domestic data gathering efforts going on too.

However all that goes, there is a window open right now, where people can empower themselves and it's going to change the guard. That change might be good. We don't know just yet how good, or if, but it's a safe wager that it's very likely not as bad as what we have now.
