Hey everybody, it's time to think about your plans for this nice holiday weekend.

Been rowdy in here, but fun. Everybody go do some simple human things and relax, or blow off steam, whatever it is you think you need.

I've got house cleanup, TV, family time, no travel on the ticket. You guys?

Staying around the house! Too broke to go anywhere. Enjoy the rain. :-)

Ditto that, Talpdx. I'm going to try and drop a new engine in my '60 Comet. It's been on an engine stand since February, waiting for a free weekend...this might be the one.

Oh, and I need to plant my corn. I loves my fresh corn off the stalk in the summer!

New injectors going on a diesel engine and cleaning a gummed up carb on a '83 3 wheeler.

Our corn is already coming up.

Van didn't leave the driveway at all today. That's a good start to the weekend.

If the weekend stays dry, bringing out the hammock and the 6 string.

Gotta stay home and rest up (and save up) for the All-Rush-All-The-Time weekend (next weekend) so it's work, work, work for me this time. Gorge on Saturday, CC Amp Sunday!

Paying respects at a few cemeteries, doing some shopping.

Maybe try to get down to some water...Multnomah County Fair might be fun. I understand it's at Oaks Park again this year.

EN - man, I SO want to join you in the Gorge ... I can't though. Mom's in the hospital and not doing well and I just got promoted, so I can't take the time off.

Take in the sights for me. I'm jealous, have a grand time!

Brian, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My own dear Mom just went through two successful surgeries this last week. She is on the mend and I hope your Mom is feeling better soon too.

So, to answer the burning question, I will be doing a combination of family stuff, bar-be-que, cleaning, and hopefully, joining Chris in the greater Portland "hammock-n-axe" club.

EN, we gotta get you to send us pics of the shows from your phone. :0)

Oh, twist my arm, LS! I still have :20 of video from last year's show on my phone so I can see it any time I want.

How did we live before camera phones?

I'd love to be in the audience for one of those greater Portland "hammock-n-axe" shows you and Chris are planning :-)

Hugs to Mom from me.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Thanks guys ... it's been a tough week. Not sure what's going to happen with her.

I'll be spending my weekend working, cleaning house/doing yard work, and being with mom.

With the completely asinine price of gas lately I probably won't be travelling much, if at all (and if it keeps up Dennie and I can forget about going up to Emery Park this June for BMX!)

Just like Chris, my truck won't be leaving the carport this weekend. Unless, of course, it's to Fred's or something local......

So this weekend I'm watching the neighbour's place and working on upgrading my Linux. I might even set up my new dish motor (new, like, as of ten months ago) and do a bit of sky-scanning on the Pansat tomorrow night.

Hell, I still have a week left of va-kay, I might go somewhere familiar and close, yet far-off. Maybe I'll even take my dirt bike with me........

Motozak2 you make an excellent point. Living in the NW provides us with great getaways that don't require that much driving.

Even a simple walk in the neighborhood might be just what you need.

I took my six string out to the front stairs of our front yard. Saw some of my neighbors doing some yard work across the street and provided some musical interludes for them before making my way over and yakking it up.

A few more neighbors joined the growing gaggle of people and before you knew it, we were enjoying each other and getting caught up on places to eat and things to see.

Then as we were departing one of our neighbors asked me to play a nice sunshine song. So I put my capo on the fifth fret and launched into "Here Comes the Sun." with half the neighborhood joining in. Man that was great. When we concluded our 9 year old neighbor boy came up and gave me a dollar for my performance. It was a classic moment.

That's how you celebrate in your neighborhood. Man do I feel blessed.

Brian
Hope you mom gets better soon. Man I know what a huge Rush fan you are and for you to stay with mom really speaks volumes about you. Best wishes.

Holding up bic lighter high for Brians mom.

As for the long weekend nothing exciting. Just mowed a few acres today and right now sitting in the car parked in the driveway, facing south, seat leaned back, listening to KGON, and watching mother natures light show.

Thanks again to everyone ... I've got a couple emails too, mom will be appreciative. And yes DT, as much as I need to fill my unhealthy Neil mancrush, I only have one mother and I'd rather keep her around for a while.

I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, and that I KNEW the pressing need inside of me to answer the call to come home was for a reason. It puts a perspective on what is important, truly, in life ...

EN - keep me informed on my boys please. God's music will abound, and I am jealous that you get to witness it not only once, but twice! Who else all is going to the show down there?

Enjoy your weekend all!

Brian, I felt that call from my grandmother and left sunny Miami and my first husband behind. You just gotta do it. I'm with you in spirit...

Going to both shows and taking the entire weekend off is a huge indulgence that's well past due, but I'll get to visit with my Mom in Yakima, too...In this light, the show is secondary...
