When 620 was still KGW as "The Talk Station" there used to be this weekend and fill in guy named Art Collins, (if my memory serves me). I always liked listening to him. Does anyone know anything about him or what he's up to? Speaking of KGW, does anyone know what Weissbach or Ralph Steadman are up to these days? |

The "World Famous Tom Murphy" is currenly livingin LA and still working radio doing syndicated stuff. Tom is a founding member of the OFC started by Lan Roberts which is open to all broadcasters who worked at KJR or KOL radio. The OFC is having a meeting in August this year in Seattle to honor Tom. I am honored to be a member of the OFC since 1999 after beingh asked by Lan to join the group. Other members include Pat O'Day, Dick Curtis, Jim Martin, Steve West, Ric Hansen, Scotty Brink, Kevin O'Brian, Dex Allen, Gary Shannon, Buzz Barr, Danny Holiday, Charlie Brown, Chuck Bolland, Bill Taylor, and other famous Seattle broadcasters from the golden years of Seattle Top 40 radio. Deceased members include Bobby Simon, Bwana Johnny, BR Bradbury, Jerry Kay, and Mike Phillips and Lan Roberts. |

They had Tom Murphy doing mornings on the first decade of rock version of Super 62, just over 4 years ago. |

Back to Art Collins for a moment. As I recall he worked in radio (and a restaurant?) in Brookings and traveled all the way to Portland for his weekend shows on KGW. He was quite good, too, and sounded experienced from somewhere. (though I don't know where)Another weekend dude on KGW I thought was good was Jack See. (I think he had some sort of film background) |

Greg Allen said: Stan.... the OFC is a "who's who" of the men that made me want to get into radio over 40 years ago. I only met a few of them... but they shaped my future and they didn't even know it... |

Several years ago, Ralph Steadman worked for KPAM 860am when it debuted as a news and talk station. Firstly, he served as an evening radio talk show host from 7pm to 11pm. When his show was cancelled, he was given another position at KPAM, but mainly in an off air capacity. I think it was in the production department, plus doing some minor voice over work for KPAM commercials. This again though was several years ago. |

I wonder what ever happened to Mike Siegel? He was Art Bell's first replacement but wasn't well suited for the job. Too, while a radio talk show host in Seattle, he made some rather outlandish allegations about the mayor at the time, Norm Rice. It was something about Norm Rice getting shot in the butt with a cover-up to follow. I think the allegations and subsequent outcry got him fired from local radio in Seattle. |
