KWVT has increased power and antenna pattern and if some of you in the area could take a look to see if you can get us and what kind of quility. We have do a drive around and have a good idea of what we see but would like to get other to lend their eyes. If you look at our coverage (www.kwvtsalem.com) it will give you a guide to if you should get us.

Sorry Ken, you have run into the intellectuals of the radio board.
They are soo dang funny ain't they?

If I had an antenna I would check for you.
Perhaps Broadway or Ricksalemradio or yahmit could?
Good luck, I hear great things about the station.

We live in Newberg and are now getting KWVT for the first time. Pretty decent signal. Nice to have a new addition to my over-the-air TV options.

I am confused about the ch 16 situation in Salem...which one will be KWVT?

http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?state=OR&call=&arn=&city=&chan=16&cha2=16&serv=&t ype=0&facid=&list=1&dist=&dlat2=&mlat2=&slat2=&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&size=9

When the STA for KORS on ch 16 runs out will the digital signal for KWVT be able to use the higher power?

"What kind of quality can come out of Oregon produced stuff?" Should we be offended? :-)

LOL... that comment was not meant to offending.
I don't live in Salem or in a place I can watch KWVT, so just wondering.

Sorry for the quick note and lack of editing but the point is to see if the larger group who SHOULD know about TV and radio could provide a critical eye.

Thanks for those that e-mailed and posted a response, most seem to confirm what we found on our road trip.

What we found was that KWVT can be received in most of Marion, Polk and Yamhill (except currently McMinnville) as well as several others, most with an old bow-tie. What these means is that the mid valley does have its own TV station once again.

As to quality; having the ONLY HD truck in the valley I think the technical quality will be much better than some seem to imply.

Thanks to all

If any have direct questions please e-mail me at ken@kwvtsalem.com

Parrett Mt. which side N or south. YOu may have a problem with Eugene 16 who has a DT on 17 if you get to high that seems to be a problem. Bald Mt has the same problem we wanted to put a translator there. We are making other plans to see if we can fix the McMinville problem which may help you as well. Thanks again

You're welcome. We're on the South side which is why KOAC comes in better than KOAP. I suspect if I got on the roof I could improve the reception though.

I hate to bring this up but I don't think it's been KOAP for a couple of decades.

And many years ago when I worked there it was KOAP. To this day, it is still KOAP in my mind because that is the way it was. The only time I think differently, for the most part, is when I have to log the EAS tests as from KOPB (because I read it on the ticker tape).
Same thing.... It hasn't been Union Ave. for many years but I grew up way up there off Union Ave and in my mind it is still Union Ave. Just the way it is.

Dodger sez:
"you're point being???

Are you saying something Dodger? Somehow I just don't seem to care about what you're trying to say.

As to Eugene yes KWVT is looking that way and also Albany just looking for a business model that will pay for the expanse, both upfront and monthly. We have several e-mails and other contacts that ask the same question.

DTV is coming soon see pattern for channel 16

Skep: your paranoia is not suiting you.
I was referring to the obvious need for semoochie to correct people on the most tedious of points that add nothing to the thread except make someone feel stupid.
KOAP, KOPB KOXX whatever, who cares? The question that was asked was a valid one that didn't require a smart ass answer.
Thank you to Jimbo for saying what I was thinking, we still refer to it as KOAP and KOAC.
